First time in a long time I haven't been able to finish a movie or tv series. Terrible acting, terrible story, terrible action scenes (it's a bloody action movie, they should be good!) and TERRIBLE acting.. the god awful acting needed to be mentioned twice because it's that bad! I love b grade action but I couldn't handle it - I recommend watching anything else. Literally anything else.
In this day and age...with the death of video stores and studios only making Marvel or Twilight movies, classic 80s & 90s action films have been squeezed out and its a shame. But with the rise in VOD, studios need content as they make fewer films and this is where the likes of Gary Daniels and DTV action stars can shine once again. This movie, made on a budget of $1 million dollars looks great. Decent actors, good action and nice production values make this film enjoyable to watch. Gary gets some nice shoot outs, gets to flex his acting chops as well as his muscles and the only downside is lack of fights (which a Gary Daniels fan expects). But fear not, director and star reunite for there next film "Bullpen" which is a martial arts brawler...So to review Misfire on its own merits, it is an enjoyable 90 minute action film, that lacks action for the first 20 minutes, then gets better as the film goes on. 7/10 I enjoyed it.
Only 3 minutes in and this movie has treated us to the most contrived commando style roll over a box of vegetables and some well placed shots into an invisible target. The only reason that I plan to persist further is to sit here and laugh at the awful acting. Can't wait to watch the rest...
Ok, I understand nobody there in such cast can actually act, but till that level? The movie is a festival of bad acting, literally by everyone.
Script or scenario had so many holes to lose the dynamics that I think teenager will write a better one. It is just as boooooorriiiinnnggg.
But I enjoyed the goofs: caneraman in every eyeglasses reflection, continuation nonsense etc. Gunfight: please someone teach director to count, Beretta M9 ist only 17 shooter at it's best. And I don't understand how you can be a special op cop, shooting M4 rifle precisely at straight running man at you in 15 meters, lose 10 rounds and miss the fat body??!! You must be a really dominant loser at shooting.
This movie is plain stupid in every corner. So if you want to watch it, the only you will enjoy is the festival of total nonsense.

ACTION
Co-produced, co-written and directed by R. Ellis Frazier starring Gary Daniels, he plays DEA agent, Cole heading to Tijuana, Mexico from the US in pursuit of tracking the cartels who kidnapped his journalist/reporter ex-wife, Sara (Alma Cruz). He does this with the help of a natural born Mexican woman, Gracie (Vannessa Vasquez)
It has fights, it has guns but there was nothing memorable. And although, I love actor Gary Daniels since he is a natural martial artist this movie doesn't do anything for him. The fights are unconvincing as heck as well as the gun sequences. Talking about a poor excuse to exploit Daniels martial art persona.
