I have no idea who the folks posting all the gushing reviews are, but this is not a good film: the acting is terrible, the pacing slow, the premise maudlin. If you have absolutely nothing better to do, try and find something else to do, since this film will make nothing but regrets. The film feels like it was shot in a weekend with the director's friends and then he asked his family to come on here and post reviews. All of which is fine, but there really should be some way to mark for review obviously bogus reviews. The one comparing this to The Exorcist? Please. That should just be a red flag.
I like the way Director Dr. Zee found a way to make room for a more complex narrative. Where as many others supernatural thriller forgo character development, Director Zee used his actors to the fullest allowing room for a more complex tapestry to be woven.
Though the movie uses a contemporary device of cinema verite its also interestingly paced like a slow-burn thriller of yore, it keeps getting better.
The unique somewhat unexpected and surreal twists keep one wondering what will happen next; it was a refreshing addition to this genre. I wish Dr. Zee would make a follow up.
Lead actors Jenna Hunt's character Maya and Johnnie played by Julian Larach where complimented by a strong ensemble performance.

Hassan Zee has a new horror film called "House of Temptation". It's a film about one man's conflict of faith and the temptations of a house of horrors. My favorite characters were the main priest, Jeremiah and Maya. I liked Jeremiah and watching him deal with his inner conflict and Maya was a delightfully wicked character. Actress Jena Hunt was recently seen in Falling Uphill (another Bay Area feature film) and it was entertaining seeing her play a completely different character. Quite a range. Without revealing too much, the film has nice twists and I liked how the main family's story was left open-ended. I prefer it when the filmmakers leave it open to the audience to decide what happens next. Overall, a nice change of pace from the usual generic slashers and found footage that makes up much of horror cinema these days.
This "movie" is bad. Really bad. I don't know who paid these people to write the reviews, but don't believe a word they're saying. The acting is terrible, the story is ridiculous, and the direction is laughable. The budget was probably 100 bucks. I only gave it a chance because these BS reviews did their job and tricked me into it. Save the time and don't torture yourself. And if for some reason you decide to watch it anyway, PLEASE come back here and give an honest rating.
A masterfully produced independent film that depicts the extreme polarities and dualities of life through a spiritual lens, exposing us to contrasting yet insightful experiences that can ultimately bring us together or keep us apart. The psychological thriller uses the elements of mystery, suspense and religion to tell a complex story about the blind spots of lust and power. The characterizations and the script are well thought out, however, the diverse themes limit character dimensionality.
The costumes, special effects including lighting and camera work are impressive and used in creative ways to depict mysticism that allows viewers to see certain scenes from the third eye of a medium. Overall, I really good independent film to view and add to your library.
