Anpodu Kanmani

This is a simple, clean, family drama / slice of life - with well written and realistic characters, great acting and pretty well paced.

There isn't any twists or turns in the story - story is linear and sequential - it is almost feels like you are traveling along with the characters and cinematography, sound design and direction succeeded largely to give this 'fly on the wall' effect for viewers.

The only illogical bits seems to the rapid progression of irritation and frustration we see the couple facing with the questions ( had this been across say 3 - 4 years atleast, it might have had more impact)

The side characters and supporting cast have give steller performances - though some the arcs felt un-necessary for the main plot.

Saw this movie without much expectation.

Even I didn't know about this movie.

But it was a good choice.

First half got slight lag. But good feeling climax.

Actors done their best. Anagha has got good potential.

Comedy actor NIYAS vallikkunnu has performed well.

I also liked North Malabar Kannur - Thalassery slang and they maximum utilised the village atmosphere of Kerala. Film was very short and in fact maximum 2 hrs.

Just married village youth face the almost same situation portrayed in the film even now a days.

Script writer & director has given their best .

I can tell it as a simple good feeling movie for family crowd especially youth.

Feel Good Movie; which many of the newly weds can relate to. Movie is simple but it shows how the only women in the society are criticized by everyone around us especially other women when things go unexpected . The urge of so called neighbors putting nose in everybody's life and making miserable with unwanted sarcastic comment is portrayed in the movie. The movie targets a wide range of audience

Choice of actors are apt for the characters. Especially the female lead Anagha Narayanan, the way she showed all the emotions are to the point. Arjun Ashokan, maala parvathy and other characters showed justice to the character.

A beautiful feel good family movie portraying a sensible and relevant subject in this status quo.

The story takes us through the lives of a newly married couple and the societal pressures and stigmas relating to family planning and how the couple deals the situation forms the storyline.

Intense writing by Aneesh Koduvally precisely connecting the emotions with the viewers and Liju Thomas has perfectly rendered it with family drama ,emotions and humour giving an absolutely delightful experience. The writer has made healthy criticisms of the family traditions and old wives tales through this movie.

Striking performances by Arjun Ashokan as the guy next door and impressive performance by Anagha Narayanan portraying emotions,humour and frustrations on right point. Maala Parvathy,Althaf Salim,Navas Vallikkunnu & Unni Raja has made notable performances of their character.

Impressive closeup shots and lighting by DOP Sarin Ravindran along with soothing songs and background notes blending with the moments on screen by Samuel Aby. Kudos to Sunil S Pillai in giving a perfect slice of a story and Liju Thomaz for the beautiful story narration.

A perfect jovial family movie and a must watch guide to newly married couples and couples in courtship on the adventures awaiting in the glorious journey of life.

Poor script. The entire story could have wrapped up in 15 mins. Very illogical. The "social issue" they try to address in this film is better addressed in one other movie Visesham. This is way too predictable. Comedy is too silly. Overall, waste of time.

The characters all very poorly written. Everyone is a stereotype. There is no conflict at all to resolve, but all characters behave as if there is some huge issue. It feels like everyone lives in a village with all individuals focus on this just one family and they all get into their business too much, which actually doesn't happen in real life.
