Magenta Light, the upstart production and distribution company founded by Oscar winner Bob Yari, has set a dynamic partnership with Evoke Entertainment and Freefall Films.

The multi-year agreement will cover co-production, co-financing and theatrical distribution for indie films, both domestic and worldwide. The joint venture will kick off with a goal of four features per year, with several titles already at development or production stages.

Magenta Light’s flagship movie was last summer’s critically-acclaimed genre thriller “Strange Darling.” They recently released Rebel Wilson’s “Bride Hard.” Evoke, formerly known as Cartel Entertainment, is behind Shudder’s multi-season “Creepshow” and the forthcoming Michael Douglas drama “Looking Through Water.” Freefall has produced action fare like Gary Oldman’s “Guns, Girls and Gambling.”

Yari will lead domestic distribution strategy and serve as principal co-financier and producer. Stan Spry of Evoke will oversee production services, packaging and contribute financing as well as producing.

In Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners,” music has an elemental power – not just the incredible score by Ludwig Göransson, but the blues songs that make up the soundtrack, which transport you to a different time and place.

Mutant, in partnership with Sony Music Soundtracks, will debut the physical releases of the original soundtrack and original score to “Sinners” later this year.

And he does it by confronting the character haunting him since the end of Season 1. This episode is a step forward for Rossi, and a win for both actor Joe Mantegna and the fans.

Rossi has been "haunted" by visions of Zach Gilford's suspected serial killer Elias Voit. In Evolution Season 1, Voit almost killed Rossi by locking him in a shipping container. The return of Criminal Minds: Evolution brings the popular procedural series back with a heavily serialized element that's perfect for streaming. While it's great for fans to see the return of favorite characters from the original series plus the interesting newcomers, the revival is definitely different. That being said, the third episode of Evolution Season 2, "Homesick," makes it clearer than ever before that Criminal Minds can't ever go home again. Specifically, the series exposed this truth by revisiting an old format: the classic case-of-the-week.

Just as the last season did, Evolution Season 2 focuses on a larger story that arches throughout the entire season. This time around, the central case involves the killer known only as "Gold Star," and the Behavioral Analysis Unit's (Bau) only lead is Elias Voit (Zach Gilford), Evolution Season 1's overall villain.

The 27-year-old singer, who received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist this year, launched the tour with a sold-out show at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada on Tuesday (March 26).

Noah performed all of his fan favorite songs like “Stick Season” and “Dial Drunk.”

The tour continues through mid-July, where he will wrap the trek with two shows at Fenway Park in Boston. He’s also playing famous venues like Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

It’s a good season to be a stick, especially for those on Sesame Street, as Noah Kahan guests in a new clip from the show’s 55th season. Watch it below.

The 44-second clip sees an anthropomorphic stick thanking Kahan for putting twigs everywhere in the spotlight, before ultimately going back to his “day job” of being thrown around for a game of fetch. Kahan doesn’t say much in the sneak peek, though he does close the teaser by singing, “I love Sesame, but it’s the season of the sticks.”

Those who missed Kane Brown‘s tour last year will have another opportunity to see the country singer on stage as he is preparing for another tour this spring.

Brown will be kicking off his In The Air tour on March 28 in Charlottesville, Virginia, and will be making stops through major cities like Houston, Las Vegas and Atlanta. Sacramento, California, and Tampa, Florida, will be treated to two back-to-back concerts from the “What Ifs” singer.

The tour will have a total of 32 shows and is scheduled to conclude in Arlington, Texas, on September 14.

Noah Kahan is back with the latest Stick Season re-release: a fresh cut of “Homesick” featuring a new verse from Sam Fender.

First announced earlier this week, the augmented version of “Homesick” follows a series of duet cuts Kahan has shared commemorating the one-year anniversary of Stick Season’s 2022 release, including collaborations with Gracie Abrams, Hozier, Kacey Musgraves, Lizzy McAlpine, and Post Malone.

Now, the duet version of “Homesick” builds upon the nostalgic reflection of the original thanks to a new verse from Fender, detailing his upbringing in Newcastle, England. In lengthy press statements, the artists explained how the collaboration grew out of a mutual respect that they had for each other.

After countless hours of blind auditions, battles, knockouts and live shows, “The Voice” crowned its 22nd champion on Tuesday, December 13. Because he’s won “The Voice” eight times, Blake Shelton has a lot of different feathers in his cap. Among them is his ability to nurture the budding talents of teenage artists. Among his three artists entering the season 22 finale on Monday and Tuesday night is Brayden Lape, the small town singer from Michigan that was only 15 years old when he auditioned for the show. If Brayden wins, he’d be Team Blake’s third teenager to win and the seventh overall in series history.

Funny then lets the gang choose between three themed doors for their adventure. The gang is then transported to a new destination and ready to solve any problem they might face. They come across friends, old and new, and Funny comes along too, morphing into different shapes to fit in.

Victor Gabriel’s “Hallelujah,” Seemab Gul’s “Mulaqat/Sandstorm” and Joseph Pierce’s “Scale” have won the top awards at the 2022 HollyShorts Film Festival, which presented its prizes on Saturday afternoon in Hollywood — thus qualifying for this year’s Academy Awards.

“Hallelujah” won the Grand Prix for the festival’s best short, “Mulaqat/Sandstorm” took the honors as the best live-action short and “Scale” won for animation. HollyShorts is an Oscar-qualifying festival for the short-film categories, and the winners of those three awards are automatically entered in the Oscar race.

The award to “Hallelujah” was presented via video by this year’s Oscar winners for Best Live Action Short, “The Long Goodbye” filmmakers Riz Ahmed and Aniel Karia. The Oscar winners for the 2018 live-action short “Skin,” Jamie Ray Newman and Guy Nattiv, presented the awards to “Mulaqat/Sandstorm” and best-director winner Carlos Segundo (“Sideral”), respectively.

Dua Lipa made her Saturday Night Live debut on the show’s Natalie Portman-hosted episode with a pair of tracks from the breakout British singer’s self-titled 2017 album.

The 22-year-old singer opened her musical guest spot by showcasing her “New Rules.” Later, Lipa delivered the ballad “Homesick,” co-written by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

Erik Poppe, Paul Mayersberg, Aage Aaberge team on painter biopic.

Erik Poppe is attached to direct a new biopic of Norwegian Expressionist painter Edvard Munch.

Poppe, whose latest drama A Thousand Times Goodnight took the Best Film Prize at this week’s Amanda Awards in Norway, will collaborate on the project with veteran UK writer Paul Mayersberg (The Man Who Fell to Earth, Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence) and Norwegian producer Aage Aaberge (Kon-Tiki).

Aaberge, of Neofilm told ScreenDaily at Haugesund that the film is “a dream project” of his.

“For eight years I have wanted to make a film of Munch, Norway’s greatest artists,” he said. “After all, the latest effort, by UK director Peter Watkins, dates back to 1974.”

“But it was difficult to find the right way to approach the project, until I met writer-director Paul Mayersberg.”
