The first thing I love about this movie is the storyline. It starts with a journey and takes to a different path.
The second thing I love about the movie is location and cinematography.
I wonder why this movie is not in the famous movie review blog's list.
It is a must-watch kind of movie.

I feel like I cannot appreciate this film enough, since I usually don't watch movies with some 'feel' in it. The story was beautifully told alongside with a truckload of tears and laughter, too. Turkey's cultures and people never ceased to amaze me, and that was why Mucize and other Mahsun Kirmizigul's works become on top of my favorite Turkish films. It is not surprising that I really admired Mert Turak's (Aziz) acting since it was so natural, yet dragged us to his world and forced us to know him much more than the villagers did. The plot may be a little flat, but it was really hard for me to pause for a while for a bathroom break. Kirmizigul really did a nice job here. The film taught us all not to simply ignore mentally-retarded people around us, nor to give them our pity. And it also taught us how hurtful some people's commentary can be. I did not notice it before until this film showed how painful it is to be living with prejudice. Like its title, Mucize (Miracle), really was a miracle, at least to me. I recommend this film not only for you to watch with friends and colleagues, but also with your families and classroom students.
"Aziz" Character is very realistic according to me. All the other villagers are so, except the teacher who is from the Western part of Turkey. Use of the camera is excellent with very beautiful scenes of East Anatolia. However the teacher character is a bit forced/synthetic whatever you may call it. For example he speaks with a heavy Western Turkey accent all through the movie but starts to talk with a Zaza dialect of Kurdish during his first days in the school but his Turkish never changes which is a bit odd. Costumes are hundred percent right for the 60's. To sum up I deem it as a good Turkish movie made in recent times.
It is a very sentimental story, but it shows us the human side of people. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!
From the opening scene, we are in the hands of a skillful director and cinematographer who along with their talented, charming actors produce a beautiful, deeply moving film with good humor, kindness, gorgeous horses, and above all the power of love. The whole experience was a Saturday afternoon well spent. Strongly recommended movie.
