There's no way of putting it mildly. Demon Baby is barely passable as a family vacation video. Take a few actors in camping site, make them act with inconsistent script and call it a movie. The entire short length of the movie is Rose having pregnancy scare, she's moody and grumpy while Theo plays the compassionate lover role. For those hoping for good psychological twist or any coherency at all, the movie will disappoint.
It delivers little to no depth, not to mention the narrative stumbles around like Rose actually does on-screen. With barely over an hour runtime, much of it is spent in slow pace bantering and resulting in timid scare at best. It can't decide if it opts for possession, usual haunting or psychological breakdown, so it mashes all tidbits and creates a shoddy excuse for thriller.
If there's anything, at least the view is kind of nice and the actors do try. Soundtracks remind me of Silent Hill, not bad considering the limited production value. Honestly, this looks like a tryout in local cinema or the director's personal tape. Highly not recommended.

It's a good thing that the movie was so dull or I would not have had the chance to fully grow to hate Rose's character. Annoying, whiny, dismissive and selfish. I suppose that indicates good acting, that I had such a strong reaction to her?
The soundtrack was interesting and had some odd choices, but it fit with the moments. The acting was fair, but very poor on the part of Officer Thwaites. His odd behavior and strange, creepy way of speaking and looking at them had me thinking he would be a "bad guy". Nope - just weird, apparently.
The plot was weak and never reached an adequate conclusion in my view. The action scenes were completely random, without enough back story as to why she would act that way. Just crazy? Lame.
It passed a (very brief) amount of time while I was working, but not at all worth seeking out or re-watching.

Now, I wouldn't normally 9* this, but it's totally got a hard time from the other reviewers IMO, so I'm upping mine accordingly. I'd probably give it an 8 however. For a low budget debut feature, this is top quality. The FX are a bit rough around the edges, and there were one or two moments which could have been improved upon, but all in all I found this engaging, scary (which is rare for me these days), and a f~@$ing top effort for a first time feature! I felt it was a good length of time - short yes, but it didn't feel too short. Great cinematography, great direction, great work from all the actors involved, and the use of the locations was top - could have been overdone with travelling shots or whatever but I felt they got the balance just right. Great job to all involved!
This film really confuses me, not in the films content or anything like that. In the rating. To read the reviews the films makers have committed some sort of atrocity, but this is far from the case.
Little Devil (Demon Baby/Wandering Rose) is a competently made, great indie film, it's shot beautifully, has nice performances, and does not try EVER to be something it's not. Yes at times it's a little slow as the creators battle with trying to achieve suspense, but beyond that it's all very very good.
I understand the movies budget was about £10,000 and trust me, that's a great return on a small investment.
The film tells a story of a couple on retreat for a holiday, but things are not all as they seem, lots of sub-plots occur and the film is a true mystery. The pay off may not be as strong as the build up, but still its a much better movie than other reviewers here make out.

The British horror film industry is littered with tired irrelevant horror. Low budget tat, regurgitated stories poor performances. But in two days I have been able to see two movies that make the difference. First I saw Death Walks, then I Saw this.
In wandering Rose a young couple are on holiday, to get away from it all. He wants sex, she wants a rest, and is clearly disturbed by something.
Wandering rose, is a very slow burning horror tale, it flaps about a bit at times, then at others is a series of scenes that just don't motivate. Beyond this though, you have a very clever little tale, that looks every bit as beautiful as movies like Eden Lake, but is shot on a shoestring. Director Greenop, really proves he has the power to be a potential master of horror, much like Johannes Roberts, I suspect he will build as one movie moves on to another, budgets getting higher, stories better.
This is a really nice first effort from an amateur filmmaker, soon to become a professional.
