Cold Snap

A boy living in forest and catching small animals for living.

A pregnant woman, near forest, helping the boy , losing her pregnancy, being under grief.

His help , in radical terms.

A simple story without dialogue, in which cinematography seems the only tool for reflect states, decisions and attitudes . Some Malena, some touch of Tarkovsky , beautiful performance of young Matthew Dowman and the last scene as explanation of boy gesture.

I saw it as a sort of poem about loneliness and compassion , about a sort of profound strange friendship and affection.

So, special and impressive for profound inspired simplicity.
