While I had never actually heard about this 2025 comedy titled "Vera's Holiday Flop" prior to stumbling upon it, I still opted to watch it solely because it was a movie that I hadn't already seen.
Well, I have to admit that I do have an aversion towards movies that are written by, directed by and starring the one and the same person - as was the case with "Vera's Holiday Flop", as Charity Jordan filled out all those positions. So it wasn't looking great for the movie prior to getting to actually watching it.
The movie is listed as a comedy, though I have to say that I was not really brought to any laughs. I suppose that my sense of humor and what I am looking for as entertainment in a movie differs vastly from what write and director Charity Jordan delivered.
I was not familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list. Not that it was a bad thing, because I do enjoy watching unfamiliar and new talents on the screen. Despite the fact of not finding much enjoyment or entertainment in the storyline, I will say that the acting performances were fair.
"Vera's Holiday Flop" wasn't exactly a Christmas movie, it was just a comedy that happened to be taking place during the holiday season. And thus, this is definitely not going to become a Christmas classic.
This is definitely not a movie that I would recommend for you to waste 97 minutes on watching. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.
My rating of writer and director Charity Jordan's 2025 movie "Vera's Holiday Flop" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
