Sleep Stalker

I was invited by the director to watch Sleep Stalker, and while it's not without flaws, it shows promise. As a fan of found-footage horror, I appreciated the authenticity of the sleepwalking sequences-some of the late-night wandering scenes were genuinely creepy.

The film, however, often builds tension without payoff, restarting instead of delivering a big moment. The acting is solid, but the dynamic between the couple feels unbalanced-Shane is believable, while Abby comes across more obnoxious than concerned. The ending lands flat, likely due to writing and budget restraints.

Still, Sleep Stalker is worth a watch. Its atmosphere, performances, and believable setup show potential for stronger future projects.

Sleep Stalker starts out well, Shane and Abby are likeable, even if they are a little goofy. The movie style has a good vibe, and develops quickly. The movie's "Sleep Institute" specialists come off good during the first few encounters, but as the issues with Shane intensify, the experts contribute little. The hypnosis scene doesn't connect at all, but maybe that's part of what happens in today's disconnected society, at times those who need help just don't get it. Hindsight is 20-20, something needed to happen to have a reasonable flow from 'young couple / influencers' to the 'creepy horror' finale.
