A quirky indie animated film, it follows a gen-z high-schooler working in the gig enonomy and encapsulates the awkwardness of those from that generation.
I have no idea what was going on in the latter part of the film though, maybe acid would have helped.
Definitely unique and pretty cool from a small team of people.

This is a film I absolutely wanted to love and rewatch. It started off fine overall with a unique presentation and music. Then people started talking..
I could tolerate it for a moment, then it got obnoxious. We have apathetic Gen Z teens who are all about the instant gratification with no desire to think beyond what's in front of them. They have no real goals, thoughts or social skills, just money and doing random things. I wasn't expecting Kubrick here, but the pace is achingly slow. The dialogue is like a pinball game. Things just bounce around with little to no context about what's going on.
There's no heart here, it's just aimless rambling from a monotone MC who is about as interesting as a rock. He falls for a girl whom I don't even think has a brain and is obsessed with her "correct name" being used; wow so deep. I find current day writing in these films are very surface level. There is no real arch for anyone. No real payoff. Blank slate characters. The animation and presentation are the only real saving grace here. But the constant awkward exchanges and forced humor gets stale super quick. I'm all for weird, whacky or different. Here it's nothing.
Just a sequence of weird music video like segments. And some hammy mixed messages about environment and corporations near the end . I found myself skimming end because I couldn't bare it.
I love situational comedies and when done well, with some kind point or nuance; I can enjoy it. Here this is clearly the work of someone who took a few too many mind altering substances and slapped a script thinking it was Amadeus. A hard no thanks.
