    Season One Review

Whilst I'm not necessarily picking romantic comedies as my first choice of entertainment genre, occasionally a show on Netflix becomes "the" show and I've learned that it's generally because it's a show worth watching. That was certainly the case here as I loved "Nobody Wants This"

Joanne (Kristen Bell) meets Noah (Adam Brody) at a dinner party and there is an immediate connection. Whilst they are great together, their relationship has obstacles, namely that Joanne is an agnostic woman who producers a sex and relationship podcast with her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) and Noah is a Rabbi, who has recently ended a relationship with a nice Jewish girl that his parents loved.

I suppose the one sentence review would be that it's actually funny and that Bell and Brody have excellent chemistry together. I feel I should write more though. What's particularly impressive about that is that the characters feel like real people and not caricatures. I say that aware that the show has come in for some criticism about its portrayal of Jewish women and whilst some of that criticism is valid, I think perhaps the longer the show goes, the more well-rounded Noah's mother and Sister-in-law become.

The supporting characters are also excellent. Particularly strong are the lead characters siblings, Morgan played by Justine Lupe and, Noah's brother Sasha, played by Timothy Simons. (I really hope the show doesn't bring them together romantically too in the already confirmed second season.) You also have Jackie Tohn, so brilliant in "GLOW" who plays the aforementioned Sister-in-Law. There are some nice cameos too, from Leslie Grossman and Stephen Tobolowsky.

The change to the creative team for the second season is perhaps a bit of concern, but given the show is based in Erin Foster's life, it seems likely that she'll remain closely involved. I'll certainly be back for the second season.

    the efficient Rebecca

The last conversation between Rebecca and Joanne is the main virtue of this episode of Nobody Wants This first season.

Because it represents , in same measure, a precious lesson about assume of responsability as result of radical change - the coversion and the status of pair of chef rabbin , but , in same measure, the assumation of identity for Joanne for who, obvious, becoming member of temple represents almost nothing.

The bad part remains the end and I saw it as a reasonable try to put the seed for new season.

At the end, maybe content by one episode from ten , seduced, in some measure, by the clash between agnostic young lady and Judaism, aprecciating few performances , charmed by Adam Brody.

    But nothing more.

    This Better Be Coming Back

What a great show, was able to watch in its entirety in one weekend as it just flew by. Erin Foster is a fabulous writer without a doubt here, and the plotline of religion versus love and family conflicts hasn't really be done in this depth before with such humor. Favorite characters besides the charming leads for me is Esther, she cracks me every time she appears but there is a lot more going on with her than just your basic beyotch. And Joanne's sister Morgan is another hoot. Favorite episode was probably the season finale of the sisters attending their first bat mitzvah, I also was on the floor with the basketball episode. Definitely check this one out I truly hope it returns as it left us with a cliffhanger of an ending!!!

    Really smart, funny show

The writing for this show is unsurpassed and it's a storyline that hasn't been done to death. It's fresh and intelligent and witty and a far cut above the silly, predictable nonsense that is so prevalent in today's romance comedies. I'm only totally bummed that there is only one season. I desperately want to know how all their lives unfold. The characters are all so likable-even the nasty, catty ones. I laughed out loud all alone watching this. We all need to hear more about them. My imagination isn't nearly as good as the writers and all the actors in this show. Please please-Carry on!!!! I'm begging you!

Morgan: [as she is trying to set up her microphone] Oh, my god.

Joanne: If you think I'm going to help you set up that microphone, you're wrong.

Morgan: I'm sorry. Does it look like I'm asking you to help me? Because I feel like it looks like I'm doing it myself.

Joanne: Yah. No, you got it. Stay committed. I feel like if you keep jamming it in there, it'll eventually fit.

Morgan: Oh, it sounds like you in your 20s, doesn't it?

      Joanne: Hahaha.

      Morgan: Hahaha.
