Deon Cole: Ok, Mister

I was working out while I was watching this. I had to stop before I injured myself. I've been watching all his specials, and they never disappoint. As a matter of fact, people usually save their best jokes towards the end, but Deon just keeps firing on cylinders from the beginning till the end. The amazing part about his Stand Up is it doesn't matter whether you fast-forward or rewind, just be at a point where he is at the starting point of his specific punchline anywhere in the special, and you're going to start laughing. I took screenshots of couple of his jokes, and I forwarded to two of my friends and they started laughing.

One time I was banging this woman...that's this entire special in a nutshell. Deon loves to tell you about all the women he's banged, types of women he's banged, the do's and don'ts of banging, and best ways to bang. He'll sprinkle in some thoughts about getting older and then it's back to banging. If you're into this topic, then you'll love this special. If you're sick of comedians talking about sex as a crutch for their lack of substance, then avoid this special like the plague. Deon is the male Amy Schumer. He has one gear: banging. Add him to the long list of comedians who's brain can't think beyond their body.

I've watched all of Deon Cole's stand-up specials on Netflix and love his comedy. However, this new one fell a little flat for me. There was way too much talk about him having sex with women. We get it Deon, heard it before. The repetitive vintage woman sex jokes after a while makes him seem personally insecure about his own stamina and age. Definitely made me go, hmmm? While he's undeniably a funny guy, his material in this special felt limited and stale. I hope that in the future, he branches out with more fresh and diverse content, because he has the talent to do so. All in all it might be worth the watch especially if you are new to watching his stand-ups!
