In a barn, not far by Calais, a German soldier, with order to investigate furthere the zone , and a British corporal are face to face. The British can not kill his enemy without the fire be perceived by German forces. The german, against his pride to serve the fatherland exterminating Comunists, is not in a better position.

So their talk discovers different perspectives and an essential common point.

Not different by other films about same type of encounters, it is just useful for remind basic truths, well crafted, crowned by fair final and by profound inspired title.
