Low Budget, Slow but well done and enjoyable

Yes it is slow, but that is the point because it about that typical piece of Americana which is slow pace and where people and life itself matters. If you don't like this subject with some odd characters don't watch it. It is well acted, no cringe acting which often occurs in low budget films, well made and it leaves you with a warm feeling.

    Sweet, wholesome movie

"This is Emily Mason from New Jersey, she's practically a foreigner." A wonderfully wholesome movie that takes place in small town rural Arkansas. Filled with quirky characters you will love. The soundtrack is wonderful as well. There is a scene in a bar where Mary Steenburgen is playing an accordion on stage with a band. Turns out she and American Idol winner Kris Allen performed a song they wrote for the film. She had to pick a song that she had written and compose an accordion solo and play with a band! How cool is that! The beginning of the movie was hysterical! It was a total takeoff on the scene in Book of Mormon where the elders were paired off and told where they were going to spread the good word. Of course the main character gets sent to the smallest town in Arkansas, just like Elders Price & Cunningham get sent to Uganda. This film not only told the story of the main character, but weaved in the lives of many of the people in the town as well giving it more heart. Definitely a chick flick I would watch again.

    Amateur hour

This must have been self financed because nobody (other than close family) would shell out money for this kindergarten attempt at film making. The characters are caricatures, the dialog is as wooden as an ancient Redwood, the plot has the intricacy of a straight line and, all in all, the fifteen minutes you spend watching this "film" is fifteen minutes you'll never, ever, ever get back. Ever.

But, hey, vanity projects are valid as long as they're paid for, right? Right?

    • Goofs
It doesn't stand to reason that a small town of 75 people would have parking meters which are apparent in several shots. Also, it probably would not support a cafe and a general store.
