Netflix continues to dominate the streaming world, with several of its shows ranking at the top of the latest Nielsen streaming charts for the week of February 10 to February 16. Leading the pack is Sweet Magnolias, which secured the No. 1 spot by pulling in an impressive 1.2 billion minutes of viewing time.
Right behind Sweet Magnolias is Cobra Kai, which also gathered nearly 1.2 billion minutes as fans tuned in for the final episodes. Another popular Netflix reality show, Love Is Blind, also crossed the 1 billion minutes mark, proving that viewers remain invested in its dramatic love stories.
Meanwhile, The Night Agent wasn’t far behind, with 952 million minutes watched. The action-packed thriller has consistently performed well since its release.
Interestingly, Bluey, the beloved children’s show, was the only non-Netflix title to break into the Top 5, showing its lasting appeal to families.

Netflix's latest true-crime drama,Apple Cider Vinegar, is quickly climbing through the platform's streaming charts, debuting at number six and rising to number three in just a few days. The six-episode Australian limited series, which premiered on February 7th, debuted impressively, and with overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics, Apple Cider Vinegar's ascent seems likely to continue. The series explores the dark and dangerous side of the online wellness world, dramatizing the real-life story of Belle Gibson (portrayed by Emmy nominee Kaitlyn Dever), a scammer influencer who promoted healthy eating and alternative treatments (including apple cider vinegar) as a cure for cancer.
The on-screen narrative is inspired by the book The Woman Who Fooled The World: The True Story of Fake Wellness Guru Belle Gibson, by journalists Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano. In real life, Gibson, the book's central figure, claimed to have cured her brain cancer through these tactics.

The brand new trailer for season 2 of "The Last of Us" has shuffled its way online, promising a much cheerier, all-around nicer experience than the show's heartbreaking debut. Just kidding. We're absolutely on course for another incredible mix of terror and tear-jerking moments, this time with a brand-new character thrown into the mix.
Following the events of last season, which ended with Joel (Pedro Pascal) finding a new reason to live at the end of the world with Ellie (Bella Ramsay), season 2 shifts the focus to the girl he saved, who still has a secret that could save mankind. The battle for survival is still raging on, though, and besides infected and nightmarish Clickers at risk of sending what's left of humanity to extinction, a stranger with a harrowing past arrives in the form of the highly-controversial character Abby, played by "No One Will Save You" and "Apple Cider Vinegar" star Kaitlyn Dever.

In the improbable case that you haven’t noticed yet, streaming platforms are on a true-crime spree. Back to back, hobby investigators are glued to the screens as they dive into baffling crimes and all their stomach-churning details. The whole thrill about true-crime series is that viewers can get fully invested in some of the most shocking crimes and hear the testimonies of the victims’ families, survivors, or even the killers or scammers themselves. Considering this, there is nothing worse than a highly anticipated true-crime documentary that simply fails to capture all aspects of a complex scam.
Netflix’s newest addition to the true-crime genre, Belle Gibson: The Search for Instagram’s Worst Con Artist, lacks so much that it is, well, truly a crime. Attempting to unveil the mysteries surrounding the infamous Aussie influencer and author of The Whole Pantry cookbook and app-turned-health fraudster, the Netflix series does pretty much anything but that.

Guess who's joining the cast of "The Last of Us" season 2? Good old Joey Pants, or, more formally, Joe Pantoliano.
In an interview with Variety, showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann exclusively revealed that Pantoliano is joining the cast of the massively successful show's sophomore season as Eugene, a character that's only briefly seen in the video game.
Apparently, it was Mazin's idea to make Eugene into a fully fleshed-out character, and Druckmann readily agreed. "I get excited when I see these opportunities," he told the outlet. "I'm like, 'Oh, I don't know Eugene that well!' The story we told [in the game] was somewhat superficial. The way this character comes in really gets to the heart of Joel [Pedro Pascal] and Ellie and their relationship."

Following a jam-packed month of new releases on Netflix in February, there's a new month upon us. If you're still trying to make your way through the previous month's top titles, such as Apple Cider Vinegar, Sweet Magnolias season 4, Zero Day, and Running Point, it's time to speed up your binge-watching in order to catch up in time for a new crop of bingeable Netflix shows.
After starting the year on a strong foot with a new Harlan Coben show, Netflix doubles down in March 2025 with not one but two new shows from the TV hitmaker. On top of those two titles that bookend March, the streamer also offers plenty more exciting series, including a sexy dating reality show, a chilling limited series, a juicy new show from Shonda Rhimes, and the comeback of an underrated rom-com.

An easy-to-overlook element of Netflix’s latest true-crime hit is the extent to which it’s also a period piece. Apple Cider Vinegar, the miniseries chronicling the rise and fall of Australian con-woman Belle Gibson, takes place from the early 2000s to the 2010s, with the birth of Instagram serving as a major driver of the story. The show has been hailed for its infectiously fizzy twist on the usually grim true crime genre — and much of that pop appeal, naturally, is carried by the show’s music.
“We wanted the show to be bright and colorful — very fun and of its era — so we always like music would be a big part of this,” Samantha Strauss, Apple Cider Vinegar‘s writer and creator, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “So we put together a soundtrack that would take you back.”

There are lots of changes from last week's top five lists of most viewed shows and movies on Netflix. The latest details are now on Tudum and reveal eight new entries across the two lists. Time then to take a closer look at whats new and the two that remained.
With lots of movies being added over recent weeks and a few departing from the platform, some changes were almost inevitable. Though I didn't expect to see just one remain unchanged from last week. As is often the case, some favorite old characters make a reappearance, too.
Likewise, in terms of shows there were some big hitters arriving on our screens recently. That's definitely had an impact this week with just one remaining from the previous week. The list highlights the ongoing popularity of a docuseries to get behind a story we know and fits well alongside the demand for great drama and thrillers.

The Netflix Effect is weird. Whether it’s “Suits” or “Madame Web” or a Netflix original like “Baby Reindeer” that turns into a sleeper hit, people tend to gravitate toward some truly random stuff on Netflix. It’s the case most weeks on the Netflix Top 10 charts, but this week even we’re at a loss.
Coming in at No. 2 on Netflix’s Top 10 English Films for the week of February 17 was none other than “Uncharted,” the 2022 Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg adventure-thriller based on the PlayStation video game franchise. Because…why not?
You guys watched it 10.5 million times this week, behind only the Netflix original rom-com “La Dolce Villa,” which hit No. 1 for the second week in a row post-Valentine’s Day with 14.1 million views. “Uncharted” previously landed on Netflix on August 5, 2022, and it spent three consecutive weeks on the Netflix Top 10 charts at that time, reaching 23 million viewing hours in a single week.

Netflix’s pop-infused true crime series Apple Cider Vinegar asks a lot of its star, Kaitlyn Dever.
The hit show chronicles the rise and fall of Belle Gibson, the real-life Australian single mom who launched a wellness empire by convincing the world she was overcoming brain cancer with an all-natural lifestyle — “all of which would be incredibly inspiring… if it were true,” as Netflix’s official summary puts it.
For Apple Cider Vinegar‘s colorful twist on Gibson’s grift, Dever masters a regional Aussie accent and inhabits a staggering range of emotions, tracing the con-woman’s trajectory from an emotionally abused teen to an arch-manipulator brought to the brink. Along the way, she plots, seduces, fakes seizures, weathers humiliations, occasionally bursts into song, and suffers intense emotional highs and lows, both real and imagined — all while attempting to be a better mom to her young son.

Con Artist Belle Gibson: How Did She Fool Us to Build an Empire and Now Running From a $440,000 Fine
Belle Gibson took the world by storm when her claims of surviving brain cancer through natural and alternative medicine were revealed to be a scam. By the time her claims were proven to be false, she had already made a lot of money from her app and cookbook called The Whole Pantry.
Years after her scam was exposed and she was fined by the Federal Court in Australia, Gibson reportedly has yet to pay the $440,000 fine to Consumer Affairs Victoria. Gibson’s empire reportedly earned in the millions during its heyday but the con artist has reportedly failed to pay the fines.

Before launching a hit wellness app, blogger Belle Gibson told her Instagram followers she’d been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Initially given only four months to live, Gibson miraculously survived for years — due in large part to her healthy diet and lifestyle. As her popularity (and net worth) soared, she became an overnight success and a hero to many living with cancer. Except every part of Gibson’s story was based on lies. The docuseries The Search for Instagram’s Worst Con Artistinvestigates Gibson’s many claims, as well as her rise and fall from the spotlight, all of which inspired the series Apple Cider Vinegar starring Kaitlyn Dever.

When a doctor sits you down and says, "You have cancer," there's no way of predicting how your body and mind will respond. Getting the answer to an unthinkable question instantly opens the floodgates to hundreds of new questions you'd never think you'd have to ask yourself. There are obvious, big questions like "How am I going to tell my grandma that I might not outlive her?" But there are also smaller questions like, "What is my last meal going to be before cancer treatment screws up my tastebuds?" Few moments in life are more isolating, confusing, and threatening than hearing a doctor drop The Big C, no matter how strong your support system is. My parents were in the room with me when I got the confirmation. My dad — a Joe Pesci-looking, working-class, Chicago-Italian tough guy — fell out of his chair.

Every episode of the miniseries starts with a disclaimer emphasizing the inspired nature of its story based on real events and the fictionalization of characters and events depicted in it. Even if you check the Netflix streaming charts several times a day, it’s unlike you’ll ever catch the list looking the same twice due to the platform’s vast volume of both original content and older classics. Netflix generally releases several new original programs each weekend, and while some climb to the top of the charts and become major streaming hits, others fail to find a place in the zeitgeist and ultimately fade into the void to be mostly forgotten. One recent project that has found major success is Apple Cider Vinegar, the true crime series following the life of wellness guru Belle Gibson, who pretended to suffer from cancer while keeping her condition under control using self-care therapies. Apple Cider Vinegar is the fifth most popular show of the week on Netflix, boasting scores of 79% from critics and 76% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

What happens when your health and wellness advice comes from a fraudster?
Inspired by a true story that was based on a lie, Apple Cider Vinegar stars Kaitlyn Dever as Belle Gibson, an Australian wellness influencer who claims to have cured her terminal brain cancer through health and wellness. Sounds unlikely? That’s because it is. As it turns out, Belle has never actually been diagnosed with — or cured of — the malignant brain tumor that she shares with the world through social media, the mobile app she develops, and its companion cookbook. The series is now streaming.
Dever was excited to lead Apple Cider Vinegar, as someone who “holds the wellness world so close” to her heart, the actor tells Tudum. “The show really does an amazing job at shedding light on the confusion that surrounds the medical world and the wellness industry — and also human behavior and...

There's a completely new show on Netflix right now, and it's actually an international title too! Swedish series The Are Murders has piqued viewers' interests, as the crime drama is currently in the Top 10 row on the streaming service. And surprisingly, it's ahead of Apple Cider Vinegar starring Kaitlyn Dever.
As of this writing, The Are Murders is holding the No. 4 spot in Netflix's Top 10, while Apple Cider Vinegar is right behind it at No. 5. No offense to the Swedish show, it's actually a really good story ad watch. But we're a bit surprised that it's getting more attention than the tale about scammer Belle Gibson. And actually, both of the titles are international content - one Swedish and the other Australian.
We also can't help but compare them at the moment since both shows came out on Feb. 6, 2025. But you know what doesn't surprise me? It's the fact that...

Netflix's Apple Cider Vinegar is the latest of several true crime con stories (like Inventing Anna) and audiences are wondering exactly how much of the series is factual.
Apple Cider Vinegar brings to the screen the harrowing story of how Australian wellness influencer Belle Gibson deceived the world. The dramatized biopic stars Kaitlyn Dever (who will soon be seen in The Last of Us Season 2) as Gibson, alongside Alycia Debnam-Carey, Aisha Dee, and Ashley Zukerman.
It's repeated throughout Apple Cider Vinegar that the series is a "true-ish story based on a lie," so exactly how much of the story is grounded in fact?

As you finish Netflix’s new series “Apple Cider Vinegar,” you’re likely left with a few questions, chief among them being “What happened once Belle Gibson was exposed and convicted by authorities? Where is she now?” Well, that seems to be something no one has the answer to.
As the credits roll on the final episode of the miniseries created by Samantha Strauss, we start to see text explaining what happened to Belle Gibson. But, before it gets into any real detail, Belle herself — well, Kaitlyn Dever’s version of her — pops up and disgustedly tells viewers to just Google it.
And if you’ve done that, you know that the real Belle Gibson was convicted of “misleading and deceptive conduct” — though not a criminal offense — and the Federal Court of Australia ordered her to pay a hefty fine. Perhaps predictably, she never paid it, leading it to increase,...

Netflix’s new scripted series Apple Cider Vinegar stars Katilyn Dever (Booksmart) as Belle Gibson, an Australian cancer survivor who turns her story — and health-conscious recipes — into an online wellness empire. It’s a glittery, social media-studded addition to the streaming services’ breadth of scammer stories, like Inventing Anna and Dirty John, both of which rely on a key detail for their success: They’re based on a true story. And Apple Cider Vinegar is no different.

This post contains spoilers from the Apple Cider Vinegar series finale.
As the new Netflix original limited series reminds us at the top of every episode, Apple Cider Vinegar is based on a true story based upon a lie told by former wellness influencer Belle Gibson. Kaitlyn Dever plays the social media scammer, who fabricated multiple cancer diagnoses and founded a business on that lie, scamming followers out of money and endangering their health.
Throughout the six episodes, Apple Cider Vinegar explores the rise and fall of Belle Gibson by jumping through time during the key periods of her business' takeover in 2010 to 2015. When you look into the real Belle's story, as Dever's character portrayal implores viewers at the end of the series finale, you'll find that the limited series covered a lot of ground and stayed mostly true to the events that unfolded.

There’s a desperation to how frustrating Netflix’s “Apple Cider Vinegar” is as a viewing experience. The latest entry in the based-on-a-true-story scammer TV genre, the series begs us to try and sympathize with the unsympathetic. Or, at the very least, it asks us to find compassion for those who would go on to weaponize pseudoscience and wellness culture. And as you can assume from that dubious and tall ask, it only kind of works at best.

A few weeks before the release of Netflix’s “Apple Cider Vinegar,” an influencer friend of a friend shared a video. She’s barely made up or filtered, talking to camera about how social media was starting to feel “unnatural” to her; a space where people come to share highlights and recipes and products — plus the most horrific news headlines you’ve read in your life — and a platform that she was no longer sure how to use.
It’s a valid critique and concern, no question — but not a new one. “Apple Cider Vinegar” tells of the seedy underbelly of early-days Instagram influencers from more than a decade ago; all that has changed now, it would seem, is their proliferation.
The series zeroes in on a shiny corner of wellness instagram from approximately 2013 to 2015. Milla Blake (Alycia Debnam-Carey) is a gains fame by battling epithelioid sarcoma with clean foods,...

In “Apple Cider Vinegar,” a new Netflix series released on Thursday, Kaitlyn Dever plays Belle Gibson, a real Australian woman who perpetuated a scam about overcoming terminal brain cancer through healthy eating. Gibson built a career around her fake cancer diagnosis, gaining a large Instagram following, creating a recipe app called The Whole Pantry and writing a cookbook with the same title.
“Apple Cider Vinegar” is a semi-fictional account of Gibson’s story. Alycia Debnam-Carey also stars as the fictional influencer Milla, who peddles wellness treatments but has a genuine cancer diagnosis. Aisha Dee plays Chanelle, Milla’s friend who reveals Belle’s scam to the media. Tilda Cobham-Hervey plays Lucy, a cancer patient who follows Belle, and Mark Coles Smith is Lucy’s husband and a journalist who investigates the fake cancer claims.
The real Gibson, an active blogger, lied in 2009 about only having four months to live following a brain cancer diagnosis.

Netflix released its latest addictive limited series Apple Cider Vinegar on Feb. 6, and it's a show that's going to have you seriously hooked and on the edge of your seat. Based on the true-ish story of a real wellness influencer's actual lie, Kaitlyn Dever stars as Belle Gibson, a social media scammer whose falls comes almost as quickly as her rise.

An app, a cookbook, a large Instagram following, all taking over at the same time as fellow cancer survivor and wellness influencer Milla Blake (Alycia Debnam-Carey). Toward the end of the first episode of Netflix’s new scandal-drama Apple Cider Vinegar, the main character, Belle Gibson, announces on Instagram that she has been diagnosed with malignant brain cancer and has four months to live. The love begins flooding her feed.
Director Jeffrey Walker captures the moment in a cascade of comments and emojis that becomes positively euphoric, and actress Kaitlyn Dever milks every last endorphin from the scene. Clearly, this is a woman on a mission.
Apple Cider Vinegar, a six-part original series that dropped on February 6, tells Belle’s tale from that moment forward. It is a rags-to-riches-to-infamy tale. Belle’s aggressive cheerfulness (think an Aussie version of Tracy Flick from Election) helps her build a self-help empire as she navigates her way through her disease, largely eschewing the advice of the mainstream medical community.

There's a brand new limited series on Netflix, and it's going to have you hooked. Emmy Award nominated actress Kaitlyn Dever stars in Apple Cider Vinegar, the series based on the true story of a lie told by wellness influencer Belle Gibson. What would you do if you created a website and everything you said or did was met by a heady rush of likes, heart emojis and many, many positive comments from a devoted number of followers spurring you on to do even more?
In Netflix’s “Apple Cider Vinegar,” premiering Thursday Feb. 6, that is exactly what happens to two Australian wellness influencers in the mid-2000s. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with promoting wellness but in these cases, one influencer, Milla Blake, started her website while seeking alternative treatment for her cancer. The other, Belle Gibson, did the same with one grievously frustrating difference. Gibson did not have cancer.
Through six tragi-comedy episodes, writers Samantha Strauss (“Nine Perfect Strangers”), Anya Beyersdorf (“The Twelve”) Angela Betzien (“Total Control”) and director Jeffrey Walker explore not only the glamorous world of early influencers but how easily those seeking help and community for their...

In line with previous years, Netflix is set to premiere a lot of new original TV shows in 2025, but some undoubtedly have the potential to rule over the streaming world with an iron fist.
From a limited series titled Apple Cider Vinegar about a controversial, real-life person named Belle Gibson to a crime drama in which a 13-year-old boy murders a classmate (Adolescence), fans of any genre will find something that appeals to them.
Even gamers will have something to look forward to when an anime adaption of Devil May Cry makes its mark on Netflix in the first half of the year.

“This is a true story based on lies.” It’s the line that opens every episode of glossy new Netflix series Apple Cider Vinegar, along with the constant reiteration that Belle Gibson, the suspicious Instagrammer at the centre of it, was not paid for the recreation of it, nor anyone else involved in her story. Often delivered via characters breaking the fourth wall, it’s a perfectly tongue-in-cheek foundation for this strange, still-prescient tale about social media’s proclivity for selling us snake oil.
If you weren’t keeping on top of online influencer drama during the 2010s, Gibson is an Australian blogger who gained millions of followers after sharing she had brain cancer, posting healthy recipes which she said helped her manage the illness. Her popularity led to an app, a partnership with Apple, a book, media appearances, awards from magazines and more...
