Contrary to what was being speculated, this is not a biopic of Pawan Singh. Instead, it is a fictional narrative centered around a character named Power Star, who reflects the larger-than-life persona of Pawan Singh himself. The film kicks off with the grand entry of the antagonists-Surya Pratap and Bhanu Pratap-immediately signaling that this ride will be intense and full of fire.

Soon after, Power Star makes his entry, and the screen lights up. It's refreshing to see a superstar's life presented with such intimacy and flair. The film incorporates comedy, action, and emotion, with Manoj Tiger adding much-needed comic relief. However, the overuse of songs early on slightly hampers the narrative flow, making it feel a bit disjointed at times.

That said, the film finds its grip with a pivotal scene-a public slap by Power Star's Guru, which turns the story around entirely. This moment hits both the character and the audience like a thunderbolt. From this point, the cat-and-mouse game of power and politics takes over, with Power Star and Surya Pratap battling each other mentally and strategically.

The second half is where the film truly shines, with tight storytelling, well-structured sequences, and dialogues that leave a lasting impact.

Writing:

The film is brilliantly written by Javed Ahmed, a fresh name in Bhojpuri cinema who brings the sophistication of Hindi screenwriting into this regional setup. The screenplay is tight, layered, and engaging, with dialogues so powerful they provoke cheers and applause. The balance between mass entertainment and meaningful moments is masterfully maintained. It's clear that the writing is the backbone of this film's emotional and dramatic strength.

Direction:

Firoz Khan does a phenomenal job as the director, extracting powerful performances and crafting sequences that feel cinematic and high-stakes. This could be marked as his finest work to date.

Performances:

Pawan Singh is in top form, bringing both charm and power to the screen. His dialogue delivery is razor-sharp and full of attitude.

Piyush Suhane, known for his work in Marathi and Hindi films, delivers a terrifyingly effective performance as Surya Pratap. His presence is so commanding that each of his scenes feels dangerous and thrilling.

Ajay Patel as Bhanu Pratap leaves a solid mark despite limited screen time.

Arshad Ali, a notable new addition to the Bhojpuri film landscape, delivers a surprisingly nuanced performance, standing strong even in scenes with bigger stars. He adds depth and naturalism to the story, and his presence is a welcome surprise.

Prakash Jais, Sanjay Verma, the inspector character, and of course Manoj Tiger, all do justice to their roles with conviction and authenticity.

Technical Aspects:

While the production value could have been higher in parts, especially in early scenes, the climax is grand and visually compelling, reminiscent of big-budget Hindi cinema. The action choreography is top-notch, with some fights resembling the style and intensity of South Indian films.

The costumes are realistic and tasteful, moving away from the usual garishness seen in Bhojpuri films.

Music has already become a hit, and though the songs felt excessive in the first half, the background score keeps the tension alive.

Editing is functional, though could have been tighter.

This film is a bold, entertaining, and emotionally resonant ride. After a long gap, Bhojpuri cinema delivers a film that is worth celebrating-a story that blends fiction and stardom, power and emotion, politics and betrayal, and still ends with hope and cheer.

With Javed Ahmed's smart writing, Firoz Khan's impactful direction, and a stellar cast led by Pawan Singh, this film is a milestone for Bhojpuri commercial cinema. Watch it not just for the action or drama-but for the experience of seeing a regional film reach for national standards.
