    Phenomenal

Caught this at Raindance and was blown away by how much I liked it

The film follows an aging gay couple as their small home becomes a spiritual locus, doors violently tear through the walls which lead to the psyches of the recently deceased. Our main characters must enter these strange and ethereal spaces in order to help the spirits on the other side finish their business and move on. But not everything is as it seems and the tone of the film shifts darker and darker as secrets are revealed

Absolutely stand out performances from the 2 leads carry the film, raw and heartfelt scenes throughout

The film is also punching so far above its weight with its production. The sets are gorgeous and imaginative, all the effects are fully practical with walls, floors, ceilings and the occasional sofa being gleefully destroyed. Massive props to the camera and editing also, the camera moves around a lot of scenes completely dynamically with a frenetic editing style thats a bit Edgar Wright, a bit Everything Everywhere all at once and also its own thing

A Really special film that I'll hit again on main release.
