The protagonist is an English antiques dealer who visits a small American town in search for the other half of a legendary locket. Surprisingly, the movie turned out to be a cross between romantic comedy and crime mystery.
This movie is something new and refreshing from Hallmark. And it's an excellent way to kill 80 minutes. The content is clean, and it never dips into political agenda.
However, the prologue scene is of two lovers in Regency England. It feels melodramatic, with the quality of acting. Just endure these two minutes, and the movie jumps to the present, which has better acting.
Fair warning, early in the movie, there's a jarring scene where the protagonist does something really stupid. You're left wondering, "What was she thinking?!" In real life, the consequences might have been worse.
I've liked Viv Leacock ever since the Hailey Dean Mysteries. In Legend of the Lost Locket, his character is overall likable. But there are a couple scenes where I wish the screenwriter had made him softer, more willing to listen.
Still, I definitely recommend this movie.

I liked this movie better than most Hallmark movies. I'd actually like to see it become a series.
An antiques dealer from England comes to New England in search of half of an historical locket. She lands in the small, quaint town of Wilmaton and meets the friendly locals.
The lovely Natasha Burnett plays the antiques dealer. I had never seen her work before, but she has a new fan in me. She was elegant and classy. As a POC myself, it was refreshing to see another POC portrayed in this positive light. We need more role models like this in film. And it wasn't only Natasha's character who was portrayed as intelligent and successful. The other people of color were similarly depicted.
This could be a cute series. Each episode could center around an antique with an interesting and mysterious story. I hope HM will consider that.
Overall a very pleasant way to spend an evening. The entire cast was good, but Natasha was clearly the stand-out for me. Thanks, Hallmark.

Won't go over the whole story again. This movie was so much fun to watch. It was well written and moved quickly. All the lead characters especially the main couple were so good. It was very interesting and enjoyable mystery and love story.,
The secondary characters are well written and interesting. The ones that didn't seem plausible weren't as we found out in the end.
It would have been nice if the movie could have been really filmed in New England not Canada like so many of the Hallmark films. The sites were very close to New England sites . But I realize this isn't a travel film but a mystery story .

It was nice seeing both Natasha Burnett and Viv Leacock outside of their roles as a married couple on When Calls The Heart. It was also really nice to hear Natasha's actual speaking voice for a change.
The story is about a London based British antique dealer named Amelia Scott, who together with her business partner is carrying on her mother's research and search for the missing half of the fabled true love locket which she believes may have made its way to America via Jamestown, Massachusetts. Once she arrives to Jamestown, Amelia keeps her business secret but is aided in her search by the local sheriff.
I found the story to be a little bit problematic and the ending even more so. But it was a lighter mystery and it was nice to see it involve a sampler, paint restoration and antiques. I might watch another, but it's not quite on my recommendation list.

I'm having overwhelming feelings of happiness and satisfaction with my first viewing of Legend of the Lost Locket!
Natasha Burnett and Viv Leacock and the entire cast and crew did a wonderful job creating an exquisite story portrayed seamlessly on screen with so many of the right feels.
The two leads have already worked together for 4 seasons as long married Canadian-American couple Joseph and Minnie Canfield on When Calls the Heart. In Lost Locket, they play couple who have just met and fall in love - and they are successful with "new love" too.
I was drawn in from the first scenes of both of the on-screen couples. There was laughter, angst, romance, mystery, suspense, even a little danger. I JUST LOVED IT.
