This show is terrible, could be one of the most unbearable car related TV shows I've ever watched. Not because of the content, but because of the filming and editing. You have all these amazing and gorgeous looking rides yet your filmers can't take a decent car shot. The multiple angle one frame super fast sequence change is the worst, it not just makes my head hurt but if you blink, you might even miss the appearance of the car itself. The race sequence in general is edited below any critics. And that makes them so short and the talking part - too long, which seems the show mostly consist of. Even on youtube you will find amateurs with better filmed and edited drag races. For God's sake show off those rides, you don't have to make that 8 sec race just 8 seconds of the show. Take "Pinks" for example which doesn't have nowhere near as big budget but makes the show desirable and exciting to watch.
The show has really improved now that they are racing in the "No Prep" series. It's much more organized, and fair. They don't have Big Chief on the show much anymore and that is the best part. He's not on there manipulating the races, or stalling or backing down at the last second. I guess Big Chief and Murder Nova can't even compete in the No Prep because they are too slow, or once again, can't manipulate things. Maybe they will disappear altogether like Varley did.
The real stars of the show are now shining, along with other real racers from around the country. It's now a show about racing and it's kind of exciting watching now, and nor just a bunch of hicks telling corny jokes and crazy antics all of the time.
Why couldn't they complete 16 races in 3 hours last night. They shot arguments and chatter about how someone is going to whip someone, but can't get 16 7 second races in. They run one race and then have 12 to 16 commercials. Now they are going to continue till next week, races 15 and 16. I'm done watching 2:45 min of commercials on a Tuesday night.
Great show, great action. The race sequence could be better showing the whole run at once in addition to what is shown. We know that most is contrived but it is still great. It's good to see that there are new places, scenarios, and racers involved. Would be nice to see a "No Prep" race sponsored by Discovery at a drag strip. It could feature many of the racers. I could guarantee that it would be a Big hit. Look at "Pinks All Out" and they didn't have any favorite racers to follow! My favorite is Farm Truck. That is why NASCAR is as popular as it is. I will watch this over all other racing on TV. Thanks, hoping for many more seasons to come !
Whoever thought a play by play announcer for Memphis Street Outlaws needs to be fired along with the announcer. HORRIBLE. If it looks good on paper, it most likely isn't a good idea in reality. They burnout, JJ drops his arms, The cars go, they 'cruise' down the road, etc, etc, etc,....SHUT UP !!!!
