One of the less inspired in Domingos de Olivera's filmography

An uninspired film by Domingos de Oliveira. Indeed, the two films I considered as his worst (Infância and O primeiro dia de um ano qualquer) were released in two years in a row, 2013 and 2014, soon after one of my favorite: Paixão e Acaso. Fortunately, he would release a little afterwards two of his best movies: BR716 and Os 8 Magníficos. This O primeiro dia... is not very engaging, situations seem distant, and great writer Domingos was not at his best while producing the dialogues. That is unfortunate, as a quite important issue appears: abusive relationship between employers and employees. At least the part of karaoke with Ney Matogrosso was nice. 😆
