A powerful film about the war in Ukraine

This film gives a very good insight to the devastation of war in Ukraine. It is not your typical action movie. It is, however, a very emotional film about people caught up in the tragedies of war. The choice of music was really good and really complements the mood in the film. Everyone should se this. It is so easy to forget how terrible war is, and in war what everyone takes for granted is no longer available, like food, water and every day living. Everything is thrown into chaos, but you rely on family, friends and your brothers in arms. I can really recommend this film, but be warned: You will be crying quite a bit at times.

    Touching, Heartwarming, Realistic and Accurate

As a completely fluent Ukrainian-American volunteer who makes regular critical supply delivery runs to the front line in eastern and southern Ukraine, this film resonates deeply. We are confident that victory is near, but this is war and wars are impacted by politics. That these beautiful vignettes are saved for posterity in this film, resistant to the whims and winds of geopolitics, provides both joy and relief. I highly recommend watching it all the way through in one sitting.

I also recommend keeping a box of tissues handy. Don't make plans for the rest of the day. Your soul and spirit will be in Ukraine and it will take a moment to retrieve it.

To the Zero Line: A Poignant Journey through War-Torn Ukraine

"To the Zero Line" is a cinematic masterpiece that captures the harrowing realities of war with a piercing authenticity that leaves an indelible mark on its audience. Set against the backdrop of Ukraine's full-scale invasion, this film transcends the boundaries of traditional war dramas, delving deep into the human condition and the essence of what it means to be alive amidst chaos.

Director Ben skillfully weaves a narrative that is both intensely personal and universally resonant. The story unfolds in a war-torn landscape where the stakes are unimaginably high - not just military victories, but the very survival of culture, heritage, and innocent lives. Through the lens of the invaded, we witness the unyielding spirit of a nation fighting for its very existence, set against an enemy bent on genocide.

What sets "To the Zero Line" apart is its focus on the intimate moments of life that continue amidst devastation - the birth of children, a wedding, the stark pain of death and loss. These poignant vignettes are masterfully interwoven with scenes of soldiers battling on the front lines, creating a tapestry that depicts the full spectrum of human experience during war.

The film also highlights the universal nature of such a conflict. It poses challenging questions to the audience, especially those in the UK, USA, Germany, and France, about the nature of empathy, courage, and action in the face of such overwhelming adversity. It's a clarion call to recognize our shared humanity and the thin line that separates peace from war.

Performances in the film are stellar, with each person bringing a raw, unfiltered realism. The cinematography is equally impressive, capturing the stark beauty of Ukraine even in its darkest hours, and the score resonates with the emotional depth of the narrative.

In conclusion, "To the Zero Line" is more than just a film; it's a profound exploration of the human spirit under siege. It's a reminder of the resilience and courage that people can muster in the face of terror and loss. This film doesn't just tell a story about a country at war; it holds up a mirror to our collective soul, asking poignant questions about sacrifice, love, and what it truly means to fight for one's home and values. A must-watch for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the ongoing conflict and the unquenchable spirit of the Ukrainian people.

    A must watch!

This film was raw, emotional, educational, and powerful. I enjoyed watching it and believe others should do the same. Thank you for sharing these voices and stories. I am praying for an end to this conflict. It really is so devastating what is happening in the world. War is not the answer. Violence is not the answer. Destruction is not the answer. We need unity. We need more love and peace in this world. That is the answer! My family is from Kiev and Lviv. To know that this war is happening hurts them everyday. Praying for Ukraine. Praying for humanity. Light will overcome the dark. A must watch.

    Unique, compelling and Intimate

Most people probably go into this movie thinking they know what it's going to be, but keep an open mind. It gives a unique and intimate POV into what life is like for those on the front lines, those they leave behind, and the strong connection between the two. The filmmaker had access to many environments that few are able to obtain, and the way it's edited gives a visual perspective that leads to a visceral one. It has a specific POV but the filmmaker presents the information in such a way that the viewer is free to make their own conclusions, which is the sign of a well balanced, well put together doc. I thought I'd watch a little bit and then come back for more later, but it's so compelling I watched entire film without realizing the time had flown by.
