The Journey touches your heart through a process of gentle osmosis. It follows 3 men who's lives are interconnected through their experience of loss. Shot in Greece it is visually stunning and beautifully acted it transports you to a place where personal fantasy, beliefs and reality collide. What emerges is a sensitive, intelligent story of grief, loss and love. Having lost the most important person in my life it was deeply resonant and cathartic. In a part of the world where we don't talk about grief it was a refreshing and brave story that allows us to honour our own loss. I thoroughly recommend it. Looking forward to seeing more from Lance Neilsen
I loved The Journey! There is so much wisdom to be taken away!
Brilliant landscapes throughout the film. All in all, The Journey finely captures the human condition and demonstrates our capacity to come to terms with loss however difficult. A subtle and clever film.
The Journey is a beautiful film which encompasses characters who are experiencing a loss that they are struggling to overcome. The film is set in Greece with it's breathtaking scenery, a peaceful quality that gives the film a calming resolution. This feeling is ignited in the characters. A true heart felt film and a pleasure to watch.
A film you need to watch several times. There's so much in it. Thoughtful and valuable insights for living. Beautiful played by the ensemble and not afraid to bring in some of the political backdrop of the times. All in all worth one's time and then some. Some of it is so familiar as if you are on the holiday or sojourn yourself. The director gets the balance right between telling the story and enabling the scenes to unfold almost at a languorous pace, perfect for the setting. Performances are never out of place and this is held up by the excellent script which for me is the key to unlock the film's overall message.
Good writing is all.
Good writing is all.
What a touching film. Set in Greece the film is beautifully shot and sychronises with the characters stories so powerfully. The actors were superb!! I watched this film as it was a recommendation due to the fact I have been suffering from grief and trying to adapt to loosing 3 very close people in the space of just one month. The film bought me to tears to begin with but as we follow the journeys of the three characters I learnt that just like them, we are all here together, we will all loose loved ones in our lives and the film really does become very deep and personal keeping the viewers educated on knowing that if you are suffering- YOU ARE NOT ALONE. The emotions one goes through are like none I have ever experienced... I went through every step of the healing process just like these characters... what a film. The ending is magical - I will not deny, I was a little nervous to watch this at first as my personal experiences are so raw.... but by then end of this film I sensed a "we can do this" attitude and felt rather overwhelmed with positivity and strength. Its definitely one to watch.
