Therapist Blake comes to the aid of Drew, a man on the edge, a man close to doing something drastic, the pair open up, Blake offers a helping hand to the desperate stranger.
Oh boy, this was so good, I loved the opener of this final series, I think I loved this one even more.
Sensational, dark and twisted, it felt very much like Sleuth at times, with the two guys weighing one another up.
You have to wait to see which one comes away victorious, it sways from one to the other.
Wonderfully imaginative, dark, twisted, everything this show does well, but best of all, the acting, Shearsmith and Pemberton deliver two immaculate performances, I genuinely dread the thought of this show coming to an end, but just imagine future projects.
Phenomenal.
10/10.

Well it got very technical but my daughter's interest was piqued very early on. She did psychology. So there is a term for people passing by and not stopping to help someone.
All of a sudden, these random psychological terms were leading somewhere.
Blake (Steve Pemberton) has brought a random stranger home. Drew (Reece Shearsmith) was standing on a bridge looking to jump. Others passed by, but only Blake stopped to talk.
Luckily Blake is a therapist. He studied online at McCambridge University and has recently moved to the remote countryside.
Not a good place to be when a distraught Drew, reveals that he might have killed someone. Just who has this random stranger done?
I expected the usual twists and turns. Just why Blake suddenly moved. What had Drew been planning and why.
There is some clever writing. Although I kept racking my brain to figure which bits were lifted from other psychological thrillers and horror movies.

This was one mf my favourite episodes from the last few series. It's a great plot, sith a few twists along the way.
It kinda reminded me of the great 1972 film Sleuth with Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine, with the premise of playing a bit of cat and mouse and trying to work out who has the upper hand as the story unfolds. Evidently we find out the motive for Reece's pain and the reason he was on the bridge.
This episode certainly delivered in its final couple of scenes with a very dark ending
The chemistry between them both in this episode is fantastic.
This show will be so missed when it finally ends in a few weeks, but for now enjoy the ride.

I have high hopes for this final season and this episode delivered in every single way, the tension builds throughout the episode and you feel like you're deep in a full length film at points because it becomes so tense towards the end. The twist in this definitely was the perfect end to the crescendo that it built to, looking forward to the rest of the season even more after this one.
They always find a way to come up with an ending that will shock you, I feel that they are really going to go out with a bang in this final season and if this is anything to go by then we're all in for a treat.

First: The acting. Superb. I immediately thought I knew the ending of this tale from the beginning. I had seen an Alfred Hitchcock episode with a similar plat and thought this would be a variation of it. It was not.
The pacing was tense and perfectly executed, and the ending is numbing and terrifying. I would rate this as one of the top 3 episodes from these two, and I have seen them all.
This is an edge-of-your-seat episode with a few twists, but that ending!!!
For fans of the series, get your popcorn. As much as I not like the season 9 opening episode, I absolutely loved this episode.
Now, I can't wait for number 3.
