(12+) This is an excellent anime! Weird premise but it works, and the battle scenes were good and exciting. As the male protagonist upgrades through the series, for me personally it was a little hard to keep up with his voices - but he was the kind of adventurer everyone can get behind. His backstory was a little sad, too. The female protagonist was beautifully drawn and sassy, and I hope they end up together. AND, since a season two has been announced, I think that could be possible! If you like progression fantasies, and magic and combat based anime, you will LOVE this series! Highly recommended!

Is not adventure is not fantasy or dark fantasy or action is anime series with a lot of drama and talking but is enjoyable to make fun of it
now you can say there is some action/fantasy but sadly is like 10% while the rest is drama and fake tension by following story tropes
Like imagine the safest and not-so-slice-of-life-but-trying-to-be story and put it in a medieval settings with magic this is that series.
I will not recommend watching unless you want to see ridiculous drama that is predictable like "oh no if x woman answers the wrong way y woman will kill her" only for a few seconds later they become friends is sad XDDD or like "lets make a harry potter contract where if i ever tell your secret it will kill me" and you can predict this stuff is going to be use for drama in a later episode.
But honestly is a wasted potential i wish the series was dark fantasy similar to vampire hunter D where the world feels tragic, grim and the main character actually struggles not just with monsters but humans too and in the end he transforms into a vampire which causes other problems
oh yeah i forgot this anime tries the isekai formula by not being isekai but wanting to which it does not work at all i mean the guy has a harem but the girls arent cute or hot and his powers are average he feels weak
funny trash series man.

There seems to be a trend of recent manga, lite novels and animes were the main characters are slightly older (not a preteen or a teenager) and I'm here for it. There has been Mangas, lite novels, and animes were the main characters were in there mid to late 20s and older before but seeing stuff like Kaiju number 8, The osson newbie, Kengan franchise, and this one shows that people are interested in stories like this. Rentt is a fun character and I'm hoping crunchy roll gives this series a second season. So on to the rest .
The story is similar to other stories like "Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in the dungeon ", "solo leveling ", "Goblin Slayer" and "rising of the sheild hero" but the difference is that Rentt is an undead warrior who's trying to become alive again but is conflicted because of his new abilities. I'm hoping they explore Rentt's humanity fleeting with his every new ability he gains , what that does to his relationships , and if he ends up finding the thing who turned him into an undead super warrior.

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer is a story about a seasoned adventurer named Rentt, who persisted in his line of work for a decade with rather modest progress. One day he discovers an unexplored passage in a labyrinth thought to be completely mapped. Frustrated at his slow progress he decides to take the risk of looking around for a bit before reporting to the guild. There a dragon-like creature devours his flesh leaving him an undead skeleton. That change, however, doesn't break him down. Thanks to his friendship with an eccentric alchemist, he is aware of monster's ability to advance through existential evolution. Hence Rentt decides to attempt returning his body as close back to human as possible. Soon he will discover that, besides obvious drawbacks, his recent form also provides new prospects towards achieving his dream - becoming a Mythril-class adventurer.
A pretty straightforward and common premise, but the implementation in this case is astounding! Just imagine the non-suicidal adventurers who don't delve headfirst into danger! The guild that actually manages its members! The trial where participants aren't left to roam or die randomly, but are actually both observed and tested! *(hello to Demon Slayer with its 20% survival rate)*
Now imagine all that coherence combined with likable characters, decent quests, and adequate world-building, and you will get a pretty good show. If it proves to have an interesting main storyline in future seasons it might even be great, or better. Looking forward to finding that out!

This anime is a simple well made fantasy anime. This anime has made one of the most well structured fantasy worlds not in story but in how people do things I can't explain it till you watch it . First adventures guild to have a well made system . Also animation is well done not great but good. The character doesn't just randomly become super strong but actually tries which I personally prefer than random power boost . Only bad thing that annoyed me is the whole season is just kinda like a build up but a well done one where you learn about the characters and the world . I think this has high potential to become a very famous anime . Also it's way better than solo leveling.
