Great cast, chemistry and story!

Amazing story with great acting from all parties. Morena is so much more than just stunning. Fantastic emotional performance from Martin and impressive Melissa moments. I loved to see Jane Curtin on screen again. Big thanks.

Very enjoyable

I'm suprised by the negative reviews but to each their own I guess. I thought it was a sweet movie I saw it at ifc center in a very small theatre and it was nice ,other people seem to enjoy it too. It's not perfect ,I didn't love the scene when Charlie and Francesca first meet ,it was a bit ott but overall it was enjoyable. To people in real life with narcolepsy/ cataplexy I can't imagine living with this illness and I don't think they made your illness a joke. I really felt for his character's situation it's not all laughs.

FYI: to earlier comments that cataplexy doesn't cause narcolepsy,and that its a symptom. That was a mistake in the description that was corrected. In the movie they state that he has narcolepsy with cataplexy so it makes it clear that it is a symptom that not everyone with narcolepsy has and that it's not necessarily the same for everyone with the illness.

Despite widespread triggers from the afflicted, there is guilty comedic pleasure in the situations depicted with a heartwarming overall tone.

Quality romcoms, even with a serious diagnosis as this, are hard to get by nowadays. Definitely have a go at it.

This story is loosely based on Act 3 of Episode 409 of the "This American Life" radio program hosted by Ira Glass.

Goofs
When Charlie is pushing his brother near the end of the movie, the railing has spikes on. When Charlie falls over the railing the spikes disappear as he is caught and dragged back up. They return when he is back over the railing.

Quotes
Charlie: I can't drive with the radio on in case anything by The Pointer Sisters comes on and I swerve into a ditch. I can't walk along any beach where there might be frolicking seals. I can't eat Kettle Corn. I can't boogie board. I can't swim in any body if water that is higher than my chest, especially if there's some guy playing with his gorgeous Golden Retriever. Crazy credits
There is an extra scene during the credits, where Charlie and Francesca share a bathroom together. Charlie watches her applying roll-on deodorant and falls asleep in the sink.
