I remeber this film fondly

I saw this film several years ago at the Melbourne International Film festival. It was one of my favorites that year. When I recently purchased a DVD copy of Sonita I decided to also track down the DVD for Sepideh (A Korean release with English subtitles but it will do). In doing so I also came across a BBC Sounds segment interviewing her in 2018.

It is worth listening to if you're curious of what became of her.

Don't let your dreams die

One of the most beautiful docu-dramas I have seen. The story of a girl who doesn't let her dream die despite all the cultural and social obstacles on her way. Made in a Kiarostami style of "close up." Not as dramatic but more poetic and encouraging
