Meet the Family

We watched this online and I liked it a lot. The show is about a girlfriend who brings her boyfriend home to meet her parents and brother and sister but it turns out they are actually pretending to be her real family and they are pranking the boyfriend who has no idea he is on a TV show. It seems simple and stupid but watching someone figure out that they are getting screwed with is funny, when they make them do all kinds of stunts. I guess the boyfriend will agree to do anything to make his girlfriend happy! I think sometimes the show could be more funny or make the guy do even crazier stuff or push him further before they give up and send him away to talk to the other people but for pure entertainment value it made me laugh which is more than most shows. It is a web show on City TV's web site.

This show is hilarious!

I love that these guys they get are so gullible or maybe so actually for real in love with their girlfriends that they actually believe that their families are real and actually as crazy as they pretend to be on TV.

You can tell it is real because they are so awkward and their reactions are so real. The guy who gets screamed at and then when he sees a baby shot up into the sky out of a cannon was really priceless, that was nuts.

The one with the Bachelor in it is great because the guy basically tells him he is a nobody and says screw off it made me spit up my drink.

Laugh out loud funny show! I am trying to find season one now I didn't even know that it existed until this year.

This is a really funny show I wish I knew where I could find season two.

I did not know what this show was about when we first started watching it, but I decided to give it a try. My 37 yr. Old son was in the room with me when I started to watch it and within just 2 minutes of the show opening it had us both laughing at it. I do not know how the actors in this show can keep a straight face. They are very good. I would never be able to pull this off, I have never seen any of them before, but they are awesome. It is somewhat a reality show, but there are actors in the show. I hope it makes it to season 3, because it sure does deserve a season 3. None of it is mean but the participants do have to have a good sense.

I have seen both episodes and I say this show is very entertaining if you are a fan of hidden camera shows. Unlike most hidden camera shows which play a prank on a bunch of people like on Candid Camera or Just For Laughs Gags, this show is about a girlfriend who sets up her boyfriend by inviting him home to meet her family for the first time. But of course her family is actually actors pretending to be her family. The reactions of these poor boys to the things that the family members get him to do are very funny. One episode had a mother who was drunk with two broken arms so he had to feed her punch from the big punch bowl and sing Christmas carols at the table because she wanted to pretend it was Christmas. You have to like your pranks a little mean because the father got fired from his job and got the guy to tape record his last will and testament and told the guy he was planning to kill himself, and the boyfriend looked like he was going to be sick. At the end of the show they tell him that it was just a joke and he wins money or a free trip. The show isn't perfect and could be better but as far as just laughing at a prank on someone it is very fun to watch.
