Saw some horror accounts I follow on insta mention this movie and decided to check it out at the Bushwick film festival. I dig horror but not so much gore/slashers, but was down for this since its based around a rock band. Ended up really enjoying this movie. Big bonus is you don't immediately hate the characters and want them to die. Appreciate that they give you people to root for.
Some of the cast did a Q&A with the director of the movie after the screening, was clear this was many of their "big break" moments, especially for the director making his debut with this movie. Everyone clearly gave it their all and its worth calling that out.
All in all I'd say give this one a chance. Its good to see more small budget movies get a chance out there with major Hollywood lacking rn. Hope we get a follow-up to this one soon!

Im not usually a Horror film lover, but this one has a great story to follow. The cast of newcomers was refreshing, young actors who rocked their parts. The story is believable for a young rock band looking for their first break after a heartbreaking death of a friend to all of them. It's an interesting story with a tie into the dark web. It's not your usual horror movie and its not for the faint of heart. It certainly had me on the edge of my seat at times. I love the way the director used great music choices to climax scenes. This is definitely a must see! Hoping for a sequel to answer open questions in the plot.
I watched this movie at the Bushwick Film Festival. It was very fun to watch and a throwback to all the old school slasher movies. I really appreciate that it was not overly gory and it wasn't too explicit. I like watching scary movies with my family and this something I would feel comfortable throwing on. The essence of all the characters shined through, either in dialogue and/or action. Humor was executed at perfect moments too, matching the scenes well. Wardrobe and presentation= superb!! Love the classic haunted/abandoned house. I feel like there's always one of those spooky houses in most suburban neighborhoods; so it oddly felt homey in that way. I highly recommend checking it out! Low budget film with amazing execution. Shout out the their camera crew, director and producers. The frames and the shots were all amazing, perfect lighting throughout the movie too!
Chilling. Even more so because you feel like it could really happen. Cast connects with each other and viewers. The movie pulls you in; seems true to the trials of a young band trying to make it big and taking chances to do it. The setting creates just the right atmosphere and tone for the events to play out. I felt the tension and anticipation through the entire film, and appreciate the effort the filmmakers took to keep that heightened sense of dread with each passing moment. It left me wanting more! Feeling like, what's next?! I've recommended this film to all the thriller and horror fans in my orbit! Don't miss it!
Desperate to regain their image, a young rock band looking to overcome a personal tragedy in their history decides to shoot a controversial music video to help raise awareness for their comeback, but the longer they stay there the more his unhinged tactics make them question his true motives.
This was a decent enough genre effort. Among the better features here is the strong and overall enjoyable setup that allows for this one to stay on a solid enough note. The initial history of the band's backstory involving the personal tragedy, the different idiosyncrasies about how they perform and write music, and the struggle with trying to get the band back on track after a series of setbacks offers a fine enough motivation for taking the offer to shoot the video. This gets them out to the house which is a moody, atmospheric piece that is the perfect type of setting for something like this to happen based on these initial early beats all set out by the strong starting point. Even once they're there, the atmosphere and strangeness of what's going on make for some intriguing ideas as for how things play out here with the way the shoot goes on. However, once the starting point has been established, almost nothing of any interest happens for long stretches of the film. Featuring no shortage of scenes involving the group going through the motions of deciding what they're doing, how they're interacting when they arrive at the house, or the series of personal inflections coming to pass while they prepare for the shoot to the point that it's just bland and dull waiting for things to happen. When it does start happening, the idea of what's going on with taking out the band one by one under the pretense of shooting the scenes for the video but turning into gruesome torture sequences that showcase more stupidity than anything in letting everything get to the point it odes before they catch onto the plan since it's so obvious there's no real surprise at all. It does undermine this just enough to hold this don overall.
Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, and drug use.
