    ridiculously convoluted plot

It's ug... I don't know what to say. Ok, this movie was filmed beautifully. I mean, the cinematography is top notch, professional, and aesthetically pleasing. The actors are actually quite convincing, they did a great job. The story... it is not bad, the plot device is good.

But somehow all these elements just didn't come together and I can't explain why. The plot just seems... like.. the decisions the people made are just ludicrous. Even without a possibility of some cannibal tribe, do they not know how dangerous the jungle is to run off by yourself like that?

Also like... the jungle is the most ultimate supplier of food whether from plants to animals. There is no way some tribe is eating people out of necessity.

I mean, the tour guide, who seemingly knows the most and refuses to go with them to find the lost guy, then all of the sudden breaks character and runs off on his own. This is not a spoiler btw, because it is ludicrously predictable.

Yeah, I don't know, I would say this is like one of those unpolished gem. So much potential, but probably should spend more time finalizing the plot.

    Overall a 3/10.

The whole film, I was expecting discount Hugh Jackman to go wolverine on those cannibals. Probably would've been more interesting.

    Surprisingly good.

I like jungle movies in general, but I wasn't expecting much when I watched "River of Blood" as sort of a throw-away one afternoon. However, I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Liked the direction, camera work, editing, etc. The acting was particularly fine, and the director nice builds the sense of terror throughout. Violent enough that it's not for the queasy. There were just a few "what?" or "how?" details (like, "What are you wearing to kayak, girl?" and "How did your clothes get so dry so fast?"), but these are easily forgivable in a fun, scary jungle thriller. IMDB says I need more characters, so here they are.

River of Blood" delivers exactly what it promises:

River of Blood" plunges viewers into a heart-pounding nightmare as two couples on a kayaking trip find themselves at the mercy of a cannibalistic tribe. The film taps into primal fears and the age-old conflict between 'civilized' masculinity and the untamed savagery of the wild. What elevates "River of Blood" beyond a simple slasher is its character-driven narrative. One male character, initially portrayed as flawed and driven by jealousy, undergoes a compelling transformation. His journey towards redemption, culminating in a sacrificial act to protect the women, resonates with classic masculine archetypes. The film's action sequences are brutal and effective, delivering raw, unflinching fight scenes that enhance the sense of danger. While not a masterpiece, "River of Blood" offers a thrilling and ultimately satisfying cinematic experience for those seeking a visceral and thematically rich action flick.

    Make Them Die Slowly

Two couples who are taking a kayak trip through the Asian jungle take a wrong turn into a tribe that is inhabited by merciless cannibals. As they try to escape the tension builds as they're hunted down and killed. This movie puts you in the mind of the 80s schlock horror films of Cannibal Holocaust. I recommend the film, good acting with suspense. The Ford Brothers are doing their thing with horror and action thriller movies. I'm definitely looking for more from them. On a score from one through ten, I'll give this crowd pleaser a six. Everyone please get familiar with their movies. Good job by all involved.

    A missed opportunity.

I rented this movie in hopes of a dark and grim action horror about people being chased bij a lost tribe through the jungle, this is what i got!

The cast was not bad at all, i even dare to say good.

    The camera work was good.

    The location was good.

The depiction of the kannibal tribe was horrible.

The gore was horrible, if you cook a head in water for a couple of minutes its not going to be a recognisable face.

The kannibal tribe had no bow and arrow?

The main kannibal was a musculer man with a metal ring in his nose.

The action was weak. It just didn't have that feeling of fear and dread.

I hoped it would, Like apocalypto or even the video game the forrest.

It was just a dissapointment i gues.
