Quite predictable, still warm & entertaining!

Tone, Script & Story: The movie follows life of Chaitu from first part. Although most elements are modified. The story is how Chaitu comes closer to her real sister Chimi. Chimi is young as compared to Chaitu.

Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: The beauty in the villages during rainy season is breath taking. The green farms, the kachha houses, the fort, the well, etc. Turn out to be quite an eye candy.

Acting: As last time chaitu won with his performance, this time chimi is the one who excels. Others did quite well like in last part.

Final Verdict: As the movie progressed it became quite predictable that it would end with Rakhi scene. Despite that involvement of child artists in the story made it a warm and entertaining experience.

Tries its best to be a great follow-up to a classic film and almost climbs the tough mountain.

    Naal 2 (2023) : Brief Review -

Tries its best to be a great follow-up to a classic film and almost climbs the tough mountain. It is very difficult and almost impossible to make a sequel to Yenkatti's classic family drama, "Naal" (2018). I was in love with his storytelling and vision after watching Naal. I learned how mature he was as a director and how mature a family story can be in Marathi cinema, and that too, from the mindset of an immature character-a little boy. We have all heard about Lord Krishna's story-how he had two parents, one biological and one parental. Naal's story was inspired by it, and definitely many would have thought about it, just like I did. The question was: how can someone take this story forward since the maternal issue was solved after all? Yenkatti had another idea, again concerned about blood relationships, but this time around siblings. Chaitu wants to befriend his younger sister, who is too little to understand these things. She only loves her other brother, who lives with them and is abnormal too. Simultaneously, we have another brother-sister's story circulating among adults. The idea was a bit predictable, as we see immature characters teaching mature characters about siblings' bonds and responsibilities. Apparently, it's true too. It happens in our society. Property issues are so common, and Yenkatti chose an easy task to handle here. The difficult thing was to set the plot for children, and he almost made it happen. The slow motion scenes, cinematography, cuteness of those children, and conversions between adults-all these things are so good, so organic, so subtle, and so wow. Naal 2 almost goes to touch the classic tag, like its predecessor, which was impossible, and suddenly falls a step below with the dramatic climax. Things get too predictable and assurable in the last 15 minutes. Maybe it was my mistake that I was expecting it to be too intellectual and deep, but it was practically impossible with the characters the film was dealing with. Nevertheless, a fantastic sequel.

    Director's Masterpiece

Sheer brilliance by Sudhakar Reddy Yankatti. To get such rivetting and moving performances out of children would be quite a task. Chaitu delivers an award worthy performance... this film is a worthy sequel to the same directors masterpiece Naal. Naal in itself was a complete story and the way it potrayed the mother son dynamics was just brilliant storytelling. The director now takes us into world of siblings. The story is told so realistically but is yet so tender, it will surely take the viewer back to their childhood. In the background there is also another storyline where adult siblings are fighting over a piece of land. The bond between young siblings feels so much more beautiful in the backdrop of adult problems... this film is a masterclass in storytelling.... must watch.

    Visual and emotional treat

As always Nagraj and team has done wonderful work. Movie is cinematographic, musical and emotional treat. You get involved in Chaitya and his sisters emotional attachment from very beginning. The way in which Chaitya, Chimi and Manu and other kids have acted in film is really great. Hats off to all the team for bringing this cinematic excellence movie.

The location, each and every character, music will make you feel that you are part of Pimplegaon.

You will really fall in love with Chimi. The kid has done really marvelous job. Movie eventhough is Marathi however anyone want to see brothers unconditional love towards his sister must go and watch this movie. Take your kids to this gem of a movie.
