My wife and I really enjoy this program. We love Cappie's sense of humor and how he and Sprout interact!! Fun for the whole family!
I particularly enjoy the "behind the scenes" and how they make everything jump off the paper (when they use it!) and into reality.
We both enjoy watching Sprout grow up and try her hand at new things and bring her expertise into the builds.
The only thing we miss is how much these builds go for. Of course we realize that the prices can't be shared as it's a business. Besides, prices in South Dakota are, I'm sure, different from everywhere else.
We also enjoy seeing the different scenery and weather.
Our vote: everyone should watch it and we need it to continue for the next 10 years.

I absolutely loved this show. The connection Cappy and Alex have is incredible. They are so funny together plus Cappy alone is hysterical. Alex staying busy with her dad and then with dance, piano and school.....she is amazing. I binged watched it then I went to see when season 3 was coming out. To my complete dismay there will be no season 3. I'm really disappointed by this. Alex is a great influence for kids of her age and younger. I really hope they change their minds. My kids loved every second of all the weird stuff they built. They think so far out of the box and makes the show so much more interesting Please bring them back.
Building Outside the Lines is an absolute blast to watch. We binged both seasons in a single day and already can't wait for more. Alex is hilarious, clever, and so full of personality-she brings such a fun, fresh energy to the screen. Watching her work alongside her stepdad Cappie is a big part of the magic. Their bond is so genuine, and their banter keeps every episode entertaining. You can tell they truly enjoy working together, and it makes the show feel both heartwarming and laugh-out-loud funny. Their builds are creative, their dynamic is electric, and the whole vibe is just uplifting. We really hope this show gets more seasons-it's easily become one of our household favorites!
This is one of those rare shows that everyone will love. It shows creativity, levity, resourcefulness, recycling, ingenuity and a wonderful relationship between a dad and daughter. It reveals a great dynamic between them with a touch of sass and humor. Love the Spearfish, SD, landscape and the down-home feel of the community. Sincerely hope this program is renewed.
The crew is hardworking, and very respected by Cappie, as are the local merchants and tradespeople in the community.
It is a perfect addition to the Magnolia Channel lineup and it represents the kind of family life everyone should strive for.

I found this home improvement show by accident on the MAX app and decided to let it play while I was falling asleep. Well, that was a mistake. Jared "Cappie" Capp and his 14 year old stepdaughter, nay, daughter, Alex (AKA Sprout) are quite the unstoppable pair.
Chip and Joanna don't have anything on these two. You can see that Sprout loves being there to help and learn from Cappie, and that Cappie takes an immense amount of pride in the little girl he's helped raised.
And the projects they do are incredible! In episode 3, they use the mixing drum from a concrete truck to make a bee themed playhouse for 4 children. It is incredible!!
Overall this show is amazing. The builds are great and seeing a father/ teenage daughter duo is inspirational. I hope the powers that be keep this show going!
