"Space Ryder" is a sci-fi short film showcasing absolutely stellar visual effects and environments created using Unreal Engine 5. We're witnessing a major leap in quality, as new technology enables stunning visual effects to be produced quickly and with relatively low financial investment.

The story follows an intergalactic bounty hunter in pursuit of one last big catch-the kind that would let him retire in peace on a serene paradise planet. The galaxy's highest bounty has been placed on a monstrous alien that no one has ever captured and lived to tell the tale. The film begins in the "present day" and then flashes back to recount the bounty hunter's perilous mission-narrated by the protagonist-before returning to the present for the conclusion.

Ultimately, it's the visual effects that truly steal the show. Space Ryder is worth watching for that alone.
