To celebrate the release of the movie, Love Horror’s Gavin Brown caught up with both Howard and Louis, who kindly gave us time to talk about Escape and the making of the film, on Louis’ wedding day no less! They also talked about the pair’s upcoming cannibal film River Of Blood, and even discussed Howard’s horror titles The Dead and The Lockdown Hauntings. Child abduction thriller Never Let Go has wrapped production having shot in Morocco, Spain, Us and the UK.

Directed by Howard J. Ford (who co-directed and co-wrote The Dead and The Dead 2: India with his brother Jonathan Ford), the film stars Angela Dixon as a single mother who finds herself in a race against time when her daughter is abducted whilst on holiday.

Ford, who also wrote the film, commented: “I want to take audiences on a very believable but nerve shredding journey that throws them into the visceral plight that is the worst fear of parents everywhere.”

A teaser for the film will be unveiled at Berlinale 2015 and will be ready for delivery ahead of Cannes. World rights are currently available via Latitude Films UK Ltd.

Anchor Bay Films has picked up the North American theatrical, home entertainment, digital and VOD rights to Howard J. Ford and Jon Ford's "The Dead 2: India".

The project is a follow-up to 2010's "The Dead" which was the first horror film entirely filmed in Africa. That film saw an American mercenary, the sole survivor of a plane crash in Africa, battling with the living dead.

In the follow-up, a ship from Somalia docks in India and an infected worker enters the overpopulated country. An American engineer (Joseph Millson) has to travel 300 miles across the Rajasthan to save his pregnant love in a Mumbai that is descending into chaos.

Shot entirely in India, the film is targeting a release this fall.

The Toronto distributor has acquired Canadian rights to the Gina Carano action thriller. Separately, Cinedigm has picked up Us rights to Open Windows.

In The Blood will open theatrically on April 24. John Stockwell directed the story of a highly capable woman on honeymoon who rescues her kidnaped husband.

“Gina Carano is without a doubt, the most badass action heroine in Hollywood today,” said Raven Banner’s Michael Paszt. “It’s a real thrill for us to be releasing the film in Canada.”

Paszt and co-managing partner James Fler negotiated the deal with Shaun Redick and Ray Mansfield of Movie Package Co and Arianne Fraser of international sales agent Highland Film Group.

I have not seen Howard Ford and Jon Ford's The Dead, and I wasn't sure going in to the sequel if that would hinder my understanding or enjoyment of it. I was informed that The Dead 2: India bears no narrative relation to the first one (other than the presence of zombies), so following the story would not be a problem. This bank holiday weekend, Empire Leicester Square is once again haunted by the annual Film4 Frightfest. Five days, three screens and a few dozen premieres, debuts, sequels and rereleases – there should be plenty to keep horror aficionados safe from the holiday sunshine.

It all kicks off with Thursday night’s premiere of The Dead 2: India, Howard & Jon Ford’s follow-up to the critically acclaimed original which screened at Frightfest 2010. As the title suggests, the zombie outbreak has bestowed itself upon India, so expect to see hero Nicholas Burton trek across some striking landscapes, albeit tailed by a zombie horde.

There are many more sequels on offer, including the return of one infamous killer doll in Curse of Chucky; V/H/S 2, a follow-up to last year’s most popular horror portmanteau; and I Spit on Your Grave 2, the sequel to a remake that left a bad taste in many a mouth.

The World Premiere of Howard and Jon Ford’s The Dead 2: India sold out in record time at this year’s Film4 FrightFest. So in an unprecedented move the organizers added another mop-up screening, taking place two days later on Saturday August 24th to cope with the ticket demand. It seems the massive outpouring of admiration and love that the Fords found the first time around with The Dead is showing no sign of abating, and it’s the reason why they decided to make a sequel so fast.

A total of 34 directors are confirmed to attend Film4 FrightFest 2013, which runs August 22-26 in London.

The guest list of directors includes Don Mancini (Curse Of Chucky), Suri Krishnamma (Dark Tourist), Bobcat Goldthwait (Willow Creek) and Adam Green (Holliston).

Also attending is Gareth Evans, who recently completed principal photography of The Raid 2 and Jason Eisener, both for V/H/S/2.

Cheap Thrills director Evan L. Katz will be at FrightFest as well as Steven R. Monroe for the world premiere of I Spit On Your Grave 2.

The Dead 2: India is the sequel to the hugely successful zombie horror The Dead. The film is set in Rajasthan and features Indian actors.

The film follows the story of India-based American engineer Nicholas Burton (Joseph Millson) in a race against time to reach his pregnant girlfriend Ishani Sharma (Meenu). Burton enlists the help of an orphan street kid Javed (Anand Goyal) and together they make a perilous 300 mile journey across deadly landscapes as a zombie apocalypse threatens to engulf the entire nation.
