There are too few people who we meet in our lives that make us want to become better people or who by setting such a great example of drive and kindness, inspire us to be and do more. Christopher Rush was one of those people.
I never knew Christopher but because of the work of countless people touched by Christopher, I now feel I do.
I am so glad that I watched this document of Chris' life because I now feel that I can do so much more and can help others to do the same. I feel now that I must disseminate the messages that Chris himself disseminated his whole life and still does through all who met him and now, through all that meet him through this film.
As a father, I know that I want my children to see the courage and persistence that Christopher had, despite all of the obstacles that life threw his way. He never gave up and did so much. A shining example of a life well lived.
Thank you Christopher Rush.

Thank you Zack Arnold for making this film.
You will inspire millions of people with Chris' message - from young to old, those with and without disabilities. Many people helped to make this film a reality, including myself. This film was completely funded by the donations of others who believed in the message. Every time I watch this film I tear up. In fact, anyone who watches this film should be ready with a tissue. It's not sad. On the contrary. It's heartwarming, motivational, inspirational, empowering, and full of emotion.
By watching Chris live his life to the fullest, despite his obstacles, you will be inspired to do the same. It's a great life lesson.

I Absolutely love this story and believe it's a must watch for everyone! The message is simply, don't give up. Don't let anyone tell you you can't/won't be an able to do something. And to not believe all these people. Even if you do have limitations, you do what you can. As long as you never give up, you will go far and Christopher did just that.
It's so incredible how Christopher was able to do so much. I see so many people in wheelchairs who seem so depressed. And here was Christopher living the life of his dreams. And that's how you're suppose to live your life.

I grew up watching the annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day MDA Telethons, and I was familiar with Christopher Rush as he served as the national ambassador from 1983 - 1984. However, as with so many things in life, I lost track of him when his public time with the MDA ended. Finding out about this film was a gift, as it beautifully illustrates Christopher's journey beyond those years.
The director of the film, Zack Arnold, was a friend and classmate of Christopher's, and his personal touch brought an intimacy that made watching 'Go Far' a truly enriching experience.
The film is wonderfully narrated by Mark Hamill. 'Star Wars' meant the world to Christopher (a passion we share!), so having Luke Skywalker himself speaking as Christopher was a real treat!
Family, friends, celebrities -- all whose lives were forever changed by the witness of the astounding bravery of one young man determined to overcome his physical obstacles -- are featured throughout, and their stories, recollections, and anecdotes paint a picture of someone who felt he could accomplish anything he set his mind to... and more often than not, he did! I look at my own life and wonder if I'd have the fortitude and the faith to do the same.
I was moved to tears... I laughed out loud... and my heart was stirred. You can't ask for more than that. I cannot recommend 'Go Far: The Christopher Rush Story' enough.

Go Far: The Christopher Rush Story is a beautiful film. It is both the documentary of an extraordinary person, and a reminder to all of us that everyone has a story. Getting to know the person behind the story may be more challenging when a disability is present, but the effort can be life-changing. Christopher touched people's lives as they quickly learned to look past his disability and see the compassionate, funny, intelligent person he was. He developed a system of principles to help him achieve his goals, which is explained in the film.
What I took away from the film are these reminders: Everyone has a story, and all of those stories are worth discovering; don't let anyone's disability distract you from learning to know the person; most of us are far more blessed than we care to admit or be thankful for every day; and the GO FAR principles can be implemented by any of us, no matter what obstacles we face.
While watching Burn Notice, I quickly learned that my favorite episodes had been edited by Zack Arnold. In GO FAR: The Christopher Rush Story, Zack delivers a wonderful movie about an inspirational young man, the parents and family who helped him believe in himself, friends whose lives were changed by their relationship with Christopher, and the method he used to accomplish amazing goals. I recommend this inspirational film to everyone of any age.
