Watched an Odia movie after almost a decade after my friends seriously recommended it to me and hailed praises about the movie. I went in with a lot of apprehensions and borderline preconceived notion against the quality.
I was expecting it to be just another copy with the usual masala. But I was SO WRONG! It was such a WONDERFUL movie! I did not expect such quality from Odia movies to be honest!
This is an amazing movie with authentic Odia culture and real feel! I could feel that a lot of research and hard work has gone into learning and showcasing Odia culture in the movie. Hats off to the cast and the production team!
If you love realistic movies with real feelings, this one is for you!
If you love Odia culture, this one is for you!
PS: I was so impressed that I ended up creating an account just to post this review and congratulate the team!
PPS: This movie should definitely win a lot of awards! They deserve it!

If u are only reading reviews and deciding to watch or not, Stop right here, book your tickets and go. No review can give justice to this master piece. Natural acting of all actors, screen play of the beautiful subject which is from the odia novel "Nada Bindu", the beautiful locations of Puri, The to the point BGM and the Last 20min PreClimax are the essence of the film.
No language can make you feel the emotions better than odia language, if you are a true odia. This feeling is driving the movie which is taking over the emotions of every viewers. This movie will surely be remembered as one of the best movies of Ollywood industry ever made.
I smell some national awards flowing to odisha as this movie deserves everything.

Pushkara (Odia movie)
Rating: 3.5/5
I watched Pushkara in Bangalore today evening with my family. The movie is an adaptation of Odia novel Nadabindu.
What I liked:
1) Sabyasachi's career-best performance stands out throughout the film. Supriya, Ashrumochan and Choudhary Bikas Das also did quite well. Nobody could have played Sunanda better than Supriya. Kudos to her.
2) Original story based on a novel and the direction and treatment are honest without any commercial masala 3) Odia culture and Puri provide a great value addition to the screenplay 4) Despite a tragedy, the film manages to touch heart strings of audience and evokes strong emotions
Areas of improvement:
1) Screenplay was a bit slow in the first half 2) The transformation of Nilakantha to Pushkara should have been explored a bit more and shown 3) Due to budget constraints, the funeral setup looked a bit haphazard. It could have been shown in a more realistic way.
4) The movie at times gave the feeling of a TV serial, especially the scenes after Nandu's death where her family members were mourning felt very cringe to me
I would urge fellow Odias to watch the movie in large numbers and support good Odia films. It is critical to keep Odia cinema vibrant so better films can be made in future.
Thanks for reading.

My first Odia movie in Hall. I enjoyed every second of this authentic odia movie. The drama, screen play and direction is also very detailed represented by the director.
Especially Sabyasachi Sir's acting and performance really touched my heart and soul. I saw some of his movies in television He came ever time stronger with his new projects. I think "Puskara" is his career best performance.
They really tried to show eastern Region culture of Odisha in this movie. I can recommend this movie to all movie lovers. Please come to the Hall and see this amazing movie.
All the actors did very well.
Jai Jagganath 🙏

Literally my minds have blown after watching the movie. What an amazing representation of culture and social taboos. The story line is just so emotional. Narration is praise able. Directon is to the point. Shoots have been in real locations. Lead actor sabyasachi made me fan of him. Lead actress tried her best. Some supporting characters can be best but it won't make feel you. Screen play is tight. It made my eyes wet in the climax. It was one of the best emotional climax ever I've watched. Literally it's a masterpiece of the Tarang cine production and I'm feeling guilty for not watching it in theatre. Just no words and recommend as must watch odia movie......... go fast and experience yourself the goosebumps.
