Ghandimathi a single parent after her husband left her lives with her son, working as a labourer at a construction site. S. N. Lakshmi an elder who lives on her own have soft spot for them. Chitti used to loiter around, often get punished by his mother. He turned a new life after meeting an ice-cream factory owner who inculcate some good values.
Meanwhile his mother falls for Manikam a homeless tarot card reader, and brings him home to live with her. The son disapproves the relationship and leaves home. A heart-broken Ghandimathi who was pregnant falls ill. Manikam meet her son and tells him to be with his mother and promised he wil leave them.
Ghandimathi dies after giving birth to a baby girl. S. N. Lakshmi helps to take care of the baby and Chitti. The films end with chitti comforting his crying baby sister.
