Don't go by the name - Decent Investigative Thriller

It is a classic example of being misled by a movie title. With a name like this, you would expect a mythological or devotional movie, whereas it is an investigative thriller.

This movie is about a brilliant but handicapped cartoonist and ethical hacker who works as a designer in a media firm. He helps the police find a kidnapper using his talents.

The title of the movie comes from the superhero cartoon series he develops, named Jai Ganesh. The story may not be unique, but it keeps you engaged throughout its entire runtime. The thriller elements are well-packaged, keeping your eyes glued to the screen to find out what the next revelation will be. The way he connects the dots to find the kidnapper or the kid is well-written.

It is an Unni Mukundan show, and he performs really well, demonstrating that given good characters, he can pull off any role. The other actors lend support to the main character and have done a decent job.

The music is a big letdown, with not a single number working in its favor. Even the background score is underwhelming. The police are depicted as mere puppets, knowing nothing about solving the case and relying entirely on this outsider, which is far-fetched. But it doesn't really hamper your viewing as you can take that with a pinch of salt.

If the movie had a title more true to its story and genre, it could have worked wonders. I really enjoyed it as it is a good thriller and can be watched with your entire family. #pranureviews #JaiGanesh #JaiGaneshReview.

Average Movie Only (my personal opinion)

Watched this movie with lot of expectations as the rating and reviews were too high. But I didn't felt it that good for 9.5 rating. Story is ok, and the making also, but may be it wasn't my cup of tea. I won't say it was a waste of money, but not the best either.

I didn't felt it as a good investigation thriller movie, felt like I need a better knowledge in cyber security and all to understand it more.

Unni Mukundan was good, he handled the role of a handicapped guy pretty much well. I am really glad that they didn't brought a cliche of the hero getting cured through a miracle at the end.

Overall the movie is onetime watchable. A.

    Jai Ganesh

    Jai Ganesh

This is a story of a differently abled person and how he lives through his incompetencies with extraordinary mind power and creative skills.

The film moves through a faster track and he gets involved in cracking certain high profile police cases with his extraordinary abilities.

Unni Mukundan's characterisation as a differently abled creative person doesn't seems to be so realistic and Mahima Nambiar's characterisation seems to be unnecessary in the story.

The second half of the movie is completely into the investigation behind a kidnap of a child who is having a close rapport with Unni's character and he gets involved to the case as he was the eye witness to the incident.

In overall,I felt something was lacking in Ranjiths story telling compared to his previous films. I couldn't digest what the director wants to convey through the movie, whether he was trying to create a super hero for Children.

The movie didn't rise upto the expectation of general audience even with the promotions.

    Rating - 2.5/5.

    Thriller with Flaws and Flickers

The film Jai Ganesh, is a cinematic work belonging to the thriller drama genres and was directed by Ranjith Shankar.

The narrative is focused on Ganesh, a young disabled man. The subject is wheelchair-bound due to paralysis of both lower limbs. He is combatting his disabilities. He is employed in a online news channel as a designer. It is evident that he possesses a high level of expertise in the domain of cyber hacking. He provided assistance to a renowned legal advocate in a case pertaining to the manufacture and distribution of counterfeit pharmaceuticals. This assistance involved the procurement of crucial evidence, a task which was executed without the need to disclose his identity. He is also an enthusiast of cartoons, a pastime which he has cultivated over time. He developed a superhero cartoon series under the title of 'Jai Ganesh'. A publishing company has expressed interest in the cartoon series, and has indicated its intention to publish it. The cartoon series is distributed via an application that boasts a plethora of features. It has been observed that the phenomenon is gradually gaining traction among the younger population. In pursuit of a novel narrative, he encountered information pertaining to a series of robberies. Consequently, he submitted this intelligence to the police. The individual responsible was apprehended by law enforcement authorities. Subsequently, it became apparent to Ganesh that the police had erroneously apprehended an innocent individual, and that the actual perpetrator was still at large. The individual in question has exhibited signs of psychological distress in relation to this matter. The subject has only one friend, a nine-year-old child named Ayan. He is the son of the Member of the Legislative Assembly, Prashant Puthran. On the night of his birthday party, Ayan was abducted by an unknown individual. It is noteworthy that Ganesh is the sole witness to the abduction. The establishment of a special team by the police force signalled the commencement of an investigation. It was only with the assistance of the Ganesh police that the perpetrator was almost identified. The individual in question has been identified as Mohan Selvaraj. He has challenged both the police and the Member of the Legislative Assembly in a public forum. It is evident that the deceased's daughter succumbed to the effects of contaminated air, a factor that has been identified as a contributing cause of death. The residence of the family under discussion is situated in close proximity to the Skandapuram plastic manufacturing facility. It has been alleged that corruption took place within the plant, with the MLA being implicated in the incident. It is evident that Mohan Selvaraj is seeking retribution against the MLA by orchestrating the kidnapping of his son. Mohan committed suicide before reaching the police. Further information pertaining to the child is pending. Subsequently, Ganesh initiated an investigation with the help of police cyber team into the web activities and IP address of the perpetrator. He has identified several locations. However, it is evident that positive results cannot be achieved in the absence of a foundation. Evidence suggests that the connections of certain tea shops, sound box shops, food delivery services and IT parks are evident in the IP address. Mohan has already scheduled a Zoom live session to take place in the room where the child is being held. Ganesh initiated an investigation, adopting an individual approach. It was determined that the information contained within the IP address was not from Kakkanad, but rather from Kaloor. Following a considerable amount of effort, the child was located in a soundproof room of a company located in the Info Park in Kaloor.

The narrative was adequate. The text is riddled with inconsistencies and lacks coherence in certain sections. The direction provided was satisfactory. Furthermore, the performances delivered by the cast were of a sub standard. The cinematography and musical scores are of a high standard. The work is not considered to be of a particularly high standard, but it is regarded as being of some interest and is therefore worthy of a one time watching.
