    Really great film

Biheen is based on poverty......it is a Bengali film with a Satyajit Ray vibe........ The scenes and cinematography is really great......and the fact that the scenes speak more than dialogues makes it really worth it.......moreover it's only 15min long with such a great script is truly fascinating.

The characters, scenes, dialogues were really up to the mark......It shows the contrast between the two sections of society and how most of the time the the weak remain suffering while the rich without even caring throws away the basic necessities which could have been really useful to the weak.....

    Wonderful!!!!

"Biheen," a short film directed by Ankur Panja, is a powerful exploration of the relentless struggle faced by the impoverished against the pervasive forces of poverty. In addition to its thematic focus, the film astutely addresses the alarming issue of food wastage, intertwining these aspects seamlessly to create a narrative that is both thought-provoking and emotionally resonant.

From the opening scenes, Panja skillfully sets the tone, drawing viewers into the harsh realities of those living in poverty. The cinematography, a standout feature of the film, captures the raw essence of the characters' lives. The use of muted tones and evocative visuals serves to underscore the bleakness of their circumstances, creating a palpable atmosphere that immerses the audience in the narrative.

One of the film's strengths lies in its ability to weave a compelling storyline around the struggles of the poor while simultaneously addressing the issue of food wastage. The narrative unfolds organically, revealing the interconnectedness of these two themes. The director's choice to highlight this dual perspective is not only commendable but also adds a layer of complexity to the storytelling.

Ankur Panja's directorial prowess is evident throughout "Biheen." His nuanced approach to storytelling is reflected in the way he captures the resilience and determination of the characters. Each frame is carefully composed, allowing the audience to empathize with the protagonists and witness their unwavering spirit in the face of adversity.

The thematic core of the film, centered around poverty, is accentuated by the exceptional performances of the cast. The actors breathe life into their roles, portraying the struggles, aspirations, and despair of the characters with authenticity. The emotional depth conveyed by the cast contributes significantly to the overall impact of the film.

The cinematography, handled with finesse, deserves special mention. The use of visual metaphors and symbolic imagery adds layers of meaning to the narrative. Panja skillfully employs framing and composition to convey the stark disparities between the impoverished and the wasteful, making a compelling statement about societal inequalities.

Furthermore, the film's exploration of food wastage is not merely a narrative device but a critical commentary on a global issue. Through compelling storytelling, "Biheen" urges its audience to reflect on the consequences of a society that squanders precious resources while a significant portion of the population grapples with hunger and deprivation.

The concise duration of the film does not compromise its ability to deliver a profound message. In fact, the brevity adds to the impact, making every scene and dialogue count. There is a deliberate economy in Panja's storytelling, where each moment serves a purpose, propelling the narrative forward and contributing to the overarching themes.

On a personal note, I found "Biheen" to be a captivating cinematic experience. The fusion of a compelling concept, skillful direction, and striking cinematography left a lasting impression. The film successfully navigates the delicate balance between raising awareness about social issues and providing an engaging cinematic experience.

In conclusion, "Biheen" stands as a testament to the storytelling prowess of Ankur Panja. Through its exploration of poverty and food wastage, the film not only captivates the audience but also prompts reflection on societal issues. It is a commendable effort that transcends its short format, leaving a lasting impact on those who engage with its narrative.
