This is worst, most disjointed mish mosh I have ever seen. Every time when the storyline begins to get interesting and you think there may hope for this film it takes off on some tangent unrelated to the story.
I found this earnest effort difficult to sit trough. The pacing, the amateurish performances, the clichés, all made me want to go watch something else. The direction was tedious and the acting was on a level with high school drama. The father, in particular, was a cartoon depiction of a fundamentalist Christian. I only gave it a three because it contained one scene in an acting class where Matthew Shepard is portrayed in what seems to be purgatory and that scene was touching. The rest of it was painful to behold, and not in a good way.
If you want to watch an excellent movie that explores the conflict of religion and coming out, watch "Prayers for Bobby."

This had to be someone's elementary school project. There is no other explanation for this disjointed talentless mess. No redeeming value in the script, the acting or the music. 100% dreadful. I can only hope that the script writer, the film editor and all the actors were on drugs so at least there is some excuse for this abomination. The Godzilla movies were serious art compared to this POS. Entire segments of this film like the Matthew Shephard and Asian breakdancers sequences had no discernible relationship to the film. The scene transitions were nonsensical. Probably the worst film I ever suffered through.
This film was pretty bad. The music to the acting needed much more attention. The director needed to spend more time with the scrip in addition to more time with the auditions. Don't worry about this one. Make the next film better. That's how we learn. Good luck to you. 👍
