Nothing is good except Mosharraf Karim's Acting

The trailer is was just too good. After saw the trailer i thought this movie will be a super blast but after saw the movie i just totally disappointed. Nothing is good in this movie except Mosharraf Karim's acting. Not good storyline, color grading, action. With this amount of story it can be a good drama not a movie. Director Bratya Basu should focus on good story and dialogues. Mosharraf Karim is a good actor he did not deserve this kinds of lames movies. Expected much more

The direction is biggest letdown. Expected much more from a movie starring Mosharraf Karim, he just didn't seem himself. A good direction can bring out the best from an actor by his skills, which is missing in this project. The other actors also didn't perform well, take Indraneil for an example. There was no emotion on the dialogues. Poor cinematography as well, lacked quality in details. Most of the conversations didn't seem normal, specially between the ones between Indranil and his wife or brother. Directors shouldn't compromise if the project is made keeping OTTs on mind. Bratya Basu did make better movies earlier for sure.

In short, I just wasted a weekend afternoon on it.

A mix of art with commercial movies

Gangster movies are very rare in Bengali. And those that have been are of very low quality. "Hubba" is completely different from that. One of the milestones in Bengali movies. Brought free air to the world of Bengali movies.

First, let's talk about the background. An attempt has been made to get to the bottom of the problem. And the director has succeeded.

Bratya Bose is basically a drama personality. Very well scripted and directed. He has worked very little in Bengali cinema. "Rasta" is one of them. But everything was overshadowed by "Hubba". Bengali needs more movies like this.

Everyone's acting is very good. Basically the character selection has taken the movie much further. Nothing to say about mosharraf karim's performance. A perfect actor. The more that can be said, the less it seems. Khanjanma actor. Just saying that everyone is good at acting but not everyone can act physically, I don't think they understand.

But several places needed more editing and steam.

    A perfect movie. Highly recommended.

Best starting of new year with Hubba.

What a movie. It is must watch movie. Mosharraf Karim (who was recently seen in Mobaroknama), has previously worked with Bratya Basu's Dictionary, and the shift in his character here is remarkable. He seamlessly fits into the role of Hubba Bimal and owns it. It's a treat to watch him, as he executes one heinous crime after another, or watches Sarkar in an empty hall he has booked. On the opposite end is Divakar Sen, a tough cop who is called in to find and arrest the elusive Hubba Bimal. Indraneil Sengupta as Divakar is a great foil to Bimal, the contrast and tension between the two is really good to watch on screen, not just in the way they look, but also through their conversations. As Bapi, Loknath Dey plays a crucial role in balancing the madness and terror that Bimal often brings to the table.

**Hubba: Life of a Gangster of Hooghly

**Director:** Bratya Basu **Cast:** Mosharraf Karim, Rupa Bhattacharjee, Arindam Chatterjee, Indranil Sengupta **My rating:** 8/10

Hubba, directed by Bratya Basu and starring Bangladeshi actor Mosharraf Karim, is a crime drama based on the life of Hubba Shyamal, a notorious gangster from Hooghly.

The film begins in 1975 Hooghly, a town that was once a hotbed of crime. Hubba Bimal is a small-time thug who slowly but surely rises to power and becomes a feared gangster. He is responsible for the deaths of many people.

The film spans Hubba Bimal's entire life. We see his childhood, his rise to gangsterdom, his time at the top of his power, and ultimately his downfall.

The film's characters are all well-developed. Mosharraf Karim gives an outstanding performance as Hubba Bimal. He brings the character to life in a realistic and believable way. Rupa Bhattacharjee, Arindam Chatterjee, and Indranil Sengupta are all also excellent in their roles.

The film's story is good, but it may be a bit slow for viewers who are used to commercial films. The film is quite slow-paced, and the second half in particular can be quite slow-moving. Some viewers may even walk out before the film is over.

The acting is all top-notch, but Mosharraf Karim's performance is the standout. He brings the character to life in a way that is both realistic and believable. His performance is so good that it feels like he is actually Hubba Bimal.

Overall, Hubba is a well-made film. However, it is not a commercial film. So, if you are a fan of slow-paced, character-driven films, then this is a good option for you.

    **Positives:**

    * Excellent acting, especially by Mosharraf Karim * Well-developed characters * Interesting story

    **Negatives:**

    * Slow pacing * May not be to the taste of viewers who prefer commercial films.
