Shot from a first-person perspective, this horror short feels like a video game from start to finish. The viewpoint, the flashlight, even the characters and their movements and interactions are straight out of a game. It's not a turn-off, but there's a big difference between playing it and simply watching it. While the first is usually fun, the second can be hit or miss-and in this case, I'm not entirely convinced.
I am, however, glad there was nothing supernatural, as that would likely have led to a jump scare-the cheapest, easiest, and most overused thrill in horror shorts. Instead, we get a figure who's clearly mentally unstable, twisted, odd, and dangerous. Not a bad film overall, but not one of my favorites either. It's slightly "different".
