Loved the story since i'v seen the trailer but the movie started just a little bit slow like they've needed 35 minutes to build up to the main plot of a 80 minutes movie !! well after that it peaked to the level i expected, As i thought they would give a little unpredictable surprise to make it look different than what they revealed in the trailer, Well there were a bunch of them,,The last 20 minutes had A Boom Boom. ;)
So the the idea is fresh, new for me, the storyline gets really good after the first half of the movie .. and it surprisingly got thrilling in a way , i gotta be honest thou the Dark Comedy side seemed to be overpowered by the Drama one in some minutes,, Apart from the dorky innocent tense comic acting (which i sorta liked) by "Patrick Wilson" i didn't see any :P but again that was the whole idea and it worked out nicely after the middle of the movie ... maybe it was just me because i really wanted to watch a pure comedy movie ;)
The cast is nice ,, i love "Katherine Heigl" i mean she's so HOT and yeah talented too ;D, her role here didn't give her more of her funny side but she engaged well in the character ... "Patrick Wilson" also did a good job, the appearance of "James Belushi" was also cool ;)
Overall the movie worked out just fine,, and it was enjoyable on an bit above average.

This movie is a hidden gem - one that I'll watch over and over again. Why? Because homicidal hot chicks are SO awesome - especially when they keep a tidy home and healthy family, too!
So, what's best about "Home Sweet Hell"? Everything really since I encountered nothing that failed to entertain me. You'll especially enjoy Katherine Heigl as Mona Champagne - the hottest murderous matriarch since "Serial Mom"! Patrick Wilson seems to play himself as Don Champagne - although I'm sure he's much more assertive in real life. Right?
I also liked to see Jim Belushi (Les) since I hadn't watched him in a while. He always leaves an impression, and Jordana Brewster is uber-hot and uber-naked as Dusty - oh, her performance is well done, too ;-)
Watch this movie for effect. Mrs. Champagne would definitely approve of this film's many fine qualities!

"Perception is everything." Don Champagne (Wilson) has the perfect life, at least it looks that way to everyone else. He runs a car dealership with his friend and is married to Mona (Heigle). She wants everything in her life to be perfect and will stop at nothing to make sure it is. Perfection begins to waver when Don hires a new saleswoman. This is a funny but very dark comedy. I enjoyed it but this is not a movie for everyone. From everything I have heard about Katherine Heigle in the news this seems like the perfect part for her. There really isn't a whole lot to say about this movie other than that. If you like dark comedies like Tucker and Dale or Very Bad Things you will like this. The movie isn't all that original and the cast really makes it better than it is. Overall, if you are a fan of dark comedies this is worth seeing. If you offend easy I would avoid this. I give it a B.
My friend Bryan recommended that I watch Home Sweet Hell, thinking that I would enjoy it. He was absolutely correct. This movie is a twisted little black comedy about a man who cheats on his frigid, OCD wife with a woman he hires to work in his furniture store...a woman he believes is sincerely sweet and genuinely interested in him as a man. The affair goes sideways and his life spirals out of control when his wife becomes aware of the situation. That is as close as I can get to sharing spoilers, aside from the fact that anyone who saw the trailers for the movie is already aware that the wife informs her unfaithful spouse that the only solution is for him to kill the woman he had been having the affair with...so that part should be no surprise. Patrick Wilson manages to succeed in coming across as the bumbling, panic prone, jackass of a husband without any difficulty, but the true star of this movie is Katherine Heigl. This was a very different role for Katherine Heigl...and she pulls it off exceedingly well. I never really felt one way or another about her as an actress, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by her performance here. This was an entertaining movie, no question about that. I like this sort of movie though, this sort of dark humor is just my kind of thing...though I tend to prefer things that go a little bit more perverse and a bit darker in my comedy, this one manages to satisfy.
Really good watch, would watch again and can recommend.
Sometimes, it's important to watch movies with actors of which you're less of a fan. It lowers your expectations and reminds you of their true, objective acting talent.
This is a very interesting watch on the real life symptoms and side effects of sociopathy and/or repressed psychopathy. It's the time of psych thriller that is scary because it could be happening to you in your own home. It doesn't mean you're stupid / not perceptive or they're super smart / devious. It just means that they're (at least) slightly more calculated than you.
There is a slew of metaphors in here from equals in a relationship to the upper class lording over their lessers, but there is a pivotal moment where they could have expressly made it about men vs women, and it (very obviously) did not turn down that road.
Really, if you like pysch thrillers, put this in your queue, I think you'll enjoy it.
