I'll give it a couple of stars because the acting wasn't the worst (but not great) and the filming wasn't the worst (but not great). The story moved extremely slowly. It seemed like they really had to work hard to stretch it out to make it a movie rather than a short film. Even at 80 minutes there were multiple scenes that could have been eliminated and not affected the story line one bit. There was nothing original in the whole film.
I also find it interesting that all the rave reviews were written in about a one week span. You definitely have to have a vested interest to consider this a great movie.

DBS Films is an Indie Film Production Company that gets everyone involved with whole movie making process. Making Movies for the Fans with the Fans. In the latest, (Horror in the Forest Film). Get the feel of 1999 Found Footage Movie,As you go down the rabbit hole with Nelson as he continues his search for his missing daughter. And who or what is in the Woods. Don't let the children go into the woods you never know what's lurking. Grab your flashlight and a bowl of popcorn and enjoy the latest film from DBS Films. You'll never feel the same about Camping in the Woods ever again. Gotta LOVE the Intro Girl.
Weird how there are over 15 10 star reviews for this movie when it has this rating. Almost like those could have purchased? Just a theory.
Boring Blair witch rip off. I knew it was bad in first 5 minutes. Mother and daughter hike into deep woods and don't start setting up camp until dark. I would have loved to see them drag thar giant, non collapsible, patio chair all the way out there. I guess it was just there?
Set up fire, and then start setting up tent. No firelight brightening the tent building, but I guess the moon was out, full, and about 100,000 miles closer to earth than it should have been to produce that light. Still better than day for night I suppose.
Then, the daughter starts screaming that she saw something, and the mother bursts into the tent and whines that it's 3am and the was sleeping. Why was she not sleeping in the tent?
Finally, they used a round template to make it look like the entire Forrest wasn't lut by their foray of lights. They thought that would make it look like it was just a single flashlight? It looked awful, it was kind of nauseating, and they did it for a good portion of the movie.
I don't even want to continue talking about this further. It's just making me angry. Why do such a direct Blair witch rip off in 2023?

The acting is terrible and the storyline is taken right from The Blair Witch, including the final girl filming herself and apologizing to her parents and the stick figures hanging from trees. The characters are boring and give you no reason to care about their survival. What little effects there are aren't terrible, but they're not good either. I was hoping for a low-budget found footage film, but this one really scraped the bottom of the barrel. There isn't a single good actor in the entire film, and the cinematography is so cheesy and gives every jump scare away. Overall, it's unoriginal and not worth watching.
DBS is totally killing it right now, proving that they're taking their game to a whole new level with each project they drop. And can we just take a moment to give a huge shoutout to the Nelson character? Seriously, I can't get enough of that guy - he's absolutely one of my favorites! I'm legit excited to see what other tricks and surprises these guys have hidden up their sleeves. I've already set a mental reminder to keep an eye out for anything and everything from DBS Films because if this movie is any indication, we're in for some seriously mind-blowing Indie entertainment. Hats off to the whole crew for this cinematic masterpiece!
