    Seans Filmowy

"Wrobel" is a film with an excellent cast and an interesting story. Mr. Jacek Borusinski did great in the title role, but so did Mr. Krzysztof Stroinski and Mrs. Julia Chetnicka. In one word, first-class casting.

The multi-threaded story (work as a postman, love, family, friends, football club) is interesting, although with such a multitude of ideas it is difficult to wrap up all the threads perfectly and... unfortunately that is also the case here. Perhaps we would like to know a little more about the past history of Remek and Pedro, the parents of the main character, etc. A treat for football fans will be this element of history and Radoslaw Majewski, who appears in the film. The sweatshirt worn by one of the actors from a certain national team from 1966 perfectly fits the atmosphere of the show. At some point I lost faith that the creators would show us at least A Piece of the Match, but fortunately my fears did not come true.

The comedic element is good, even very good. I actually laughed out loud a few times. Adventures with grandpa, the postman's job (which I would also like to learn more about) and the scene in which we see the title of the film are just some of the few funny moments during the screening.

It should be emphasized that (almost) everything that happens, e.g. At the beginning, has its explanation later in the film (e.g. Dialogue while crossing the lanes).

To sum up - the film "Wrobel" is a film with interesting but underdeveloped characters; an interesting story that wraps up all the threads and very good comedy elements. The biggest drawback of the film, however, is the time and the feeling of boredom that appears during it.

I recommend it to everyone who wants to watch a good Polish comedy and to those who don't know what movie is worth going to the cinema to see. It's always best to go, see it with your own eyes and form your own opinions about the film you've watched.

Rating: Not bad +, on the IMDB scale 6.5/10

PS. The history of its creation, everything related to the production and creation of the film, is very interesting. Mr. Tomasz and Mr. Jacek are modest people with great passion for what they do. Greetings from the 51st Inskie Lato Filmowe.

    Far from obvious. Inspiring.

I take this movie as an experimental mix of drama and satire. Characters and small town living were beautifully sketched. You watch a story of a man living a difficult, lonelly life, surrounded by people who don't understand him and suddenly, bang! You get flashed with brief scene that makes you laugh. Out of nowhere. I loved it.

Experiment was a success. Rating 5.6/10 at the moment I write this, proves that many viewers didn't understand this move. They've seen Jacek Borusinski on the poster and hoped for a simple, shallow comedy. Even back in the day in "Mumio" group and in their old "Higway" movie they showed that they are targeting an intelligent audience. Not necessarily recipients of mobile company advertise series.

Polish Arthouse About Love; Family and Football

It's a slow-burning movie. A nice character-driven plot movie about a lonely postman who loses his job and his pride in playing football for a local non-league team when a marquee signing takes his place and banishes him to the bench!

During this period he finds love and a relationship but she is not 100% honest with him as she is holding someone else's baby. There is great romantic tension in the film.

During this movie he discovers his father's previous life as a musician and a bandleader when finding his old musical instruments. He asks a local nun if she can find out more information on his father's band online in the parish database (it's just an internet search but he is naive to technology).

As luck would have it his grandfather's band are still playing gigs. His father is too ill to travel so he goes by himself to see them play. He connects further with the band to discover his grandfather's 'genius' after an interview with their older member after a show.

There is some nice romantic touches to this movie and it's a very slow film. It's not fast-paced or flashy and it doesn't have to be. It has some great realistic sequences of non-league football and a greedy and over-aspirational owner.

It's really refreshing to have football portrayed properly in a movie. I like the Arsenal hat as it a shout out to Arsenal's Polish players and I am an Arsenal fan.

In a nutshell this is a nice slow observational movie about life and greed and frailty and looking after our own and finding out family surprises that you didn't know about.

The film is a refreshing change from so many over-budgeted CGI movies these days. I liked it. 7/10, Amazon Prime.

    Boomer's wet dream

... and it's terribly miscast. The main character is supposed to be 39 year old, but he looks like could have at least a 39 year old child. Made half a plot seem ridiculous, unreal and all in all terrible.

I think the director watched "Dzien swira" and wanted to do his own take on it, but the whole thing fell very flat.

Very few female characters were one-dimensional and catty; I can guess what the creator thinks of women in general.

Some characters seemed very random and they did nothing for the plot or creating a backdrop to the plot.

I would personally stay away. Life is too short to waste close to 2 hours of it on this movie.
