The Halloween masks the characters wear during the murder are representations and clues of the characters throughout the rest of the film. Joe's mask was chosen as 'The innocent clown' to represent the peaceful manner in which is tries to manipulate the others. Alex's Halloween mask was 'The Demon' to represent how he see's himself throughout the film. Tom's mask was 'The Pumpkin' to represent the child like way he is. Lee's mask was 'The Ghost' to represent his desire to disappear, as if nothing had happened.
