Call Her King

I wanted to see this movie when it came out in theatres, doing one week before heading into streaming service BET+.

Ex-3LW member Naturi Naughton, a great actress in her own right, is no Micheal Jai White, but I respect the valiant effort made to try to put her on that level. A movie on this level thinks they can skip on the action sequences, this movie does not do that. There are worse movies that call themselves action and should have a lot of action in it. But this movie has action and I'm gratefull.

Oh and a shout out to Lance Goss. This brother is fire in everything.

Naturi Naughton is not an action hero, that is certain. Plus, the movie's cool message was a little too overblown. Everything was all over the place with no clear hero or villain, which does not really work for an action movie overall.

Still it was worth seeing it once.

Call her King.

This movie almost worked but then again it just didn't work. The Poster, the trailer, the cast it really almost worked.

There plot had a ton of potential, it felt rushed and not really thought through in many places in the end it was executed badly and it was a miss.

The cast tried hard but it could not save this film. Had this been a movie back in the 80's with Jerry Bruckheimer type budget it could have been a box office hit.

The CGI is straight out laughable, I don't know they even tried with those explosives scenes.

Some may enjoy this movie, made for tv quality.

It is a generous 4 out 10 for me.
