Ken Page, one of Broadway’s most familiar character actors who indelibly lent his voice to Tim Burton’s holiday film classic The Nightmare Before Christmas as the villainous Oogie Boogie, died Monday, September 30. He was 70.
His death was announced on social media by his friend Dorian Hannaway, who wrote that he “passed quietly and peacefully at his home.”
Born January 20, 1954, in St. Louis, Page was determined to pursue a career on the stage as early as high school, and received a full scholarship in musical theater at Fontbonne College in Clayton, Missouri. He began his professional career in the chorus of St. Louis’ Muny theater before making his Broadway debut in 1977 in the replacement cast for Cats as the Lion.
A more noticeable star turn came in the 1976 Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls, with Page all but stealing the show as Nicely-Nicely. Next came the 1978 hit Ain’t Misbehavin...

Here’s how Arnold Schwarzenegger emerged victorious in his box office battle with Sylvester Stallone! (Photo Credit – Koimoi)
Sylvester Stallone just came clean on something action fans have been debating forever—Arnold Schwarzenegger straight-up won their epic box office battle. In Arnold, Netflix’s doc that dives into the legend’s life, Sly admits that Arnie took the crown in their ’80s and ’90s rivalry. The doc breaks down everything—from Arnie’s bodybuilding days, his Hollywood takeover, and even his stint as the Governator. But the juicy rivalry between him and Stallone steals the show.
Both action stars had a fierce rivalry previously. Sylvester Stallone‘s Rambo and Schwarzenegger’s Terminator ruled the big screen, and it wasn’t about who had the biggest explosions or punchlines—it was about who won. Arnold said he “needed an enemy” to keep motivated, and Stallone was it. He thought he was...

Erik and Lyle Menendez are getting their own non-“Monsters” platform on Netflix.
Continuing a recent trend for true-crime series, Netflix will soon debut a documentary on the Menendez brothers to accompany their fictionalized Ryan Murphy series “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” which was released last week. The documentary, titled “The Menendez Brothers” and directed by Alejandro Hartmann, will be released on October 7.
Hartmann’s doc aims to offer “another perspective” on the infamous case. We got the trailer today — watch it below.
This one-two combination of a scripted series and then a documentary mirrors the strategy Peacock has employed with its “Dr. Death” seasons. NBCUniversal’s Peacock also recently released a series of Scott Peterson interviews from prison, which followed Netflix’s “American Murder: Laci Peterson.”

Kids shows are generally lighthearted in nature; however, it's also common for popular children's shows to include cautionary episodes to alert children and teenagers of real-life dangers. Iconic coming-of-age sitcoms like Sister, Sister and Boy Meets World earned acclaim for featuring scenes related to mature themes, which is a major part of their appeal.
While some children's shows regularly explore mature themes, others do so with much less frequency. For example, although Spongebob Squarepants and That's So Raven are known for their levity, they occasionally approach topics that are significantly more serious. Still, more often than not, these dark moments fit perfectly with their show's premises and bring depth to their characters.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has accomplished a fair bit in his life. The man came over from Austria having served in the army, claimed the Mr. Olympia title a full seven times, then launched one of the most successful Hollywood careers in the history of the industry, before becoming governor of California and finding time to marry a Kennedy in the process. But surely what he's really concerned with are his Rotten Tomato scores.
Having recently starred in his own Netflix series, "Fubar," recounted his remarkable life in the streamer's "Arnold" documentary, and whipped Jake from State Farm into shape for a Super Bowl commercial, the Austrian Oak is now gearing up for his Christmas comedy with "Reacher" star Alan Ritchson. But between all this stuff, you've got to imagine that Arnie was eager to hurry back to his trailer and pore over the pages of Rt, desperately scouring for the latest...

The 96th Academy Awards saw Oppenheimer taking home the most awards of the night, a fine selection of memorable speeches and even a dog in the audience. But some of the funniest moments of the Oscars came in between all of these. For us, the highlight was undoubtedly a showdown for the ages between Michael Keaton and two foes of Batman: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.
One presenter — well, pair of presenters — that got big laughs was the duo of Schwarzenegger and DeVito, who gave out the Oscars for Best Visual Effects and Best Editing. Now we all know that the two headlined Twins (which Oppenheimer editor Jennifer Lame was cool enough to shout out), but what they really wanted to focus on was taking down Batman, as Mr. Freeze and The Penguin were both discarded by the Caped Crusader in Batman & Robin and Batman Returns, respectively. The Austrian actor, 76, said that he has three dogs, two ponies and a pig, reports People magazine.

The recent ad campaign for Paramount+ has been a mite surreal. In them, a group of fictional characters, each from various Paramount-owned properties, find themselves lost on Paramount Mountain -- a desolate and snowy place -- wondering how they might escape. The ads are fun, as there are few places where one might see Peppa Pig and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen interacting with Beavis and Butt-Head. Several of the spots were narrated by Patrick Stewart and, throughout the campaign, featured cameos from "Survivor" host Jeff Probst, Captain Pike from "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" as played by Anson Mount, Dora the Explorer, James Corden, Bumblebee the Transformer, Snooki, DJ Khaled, Diane Lockhart from "The Good Fight" as played by Christine Baranski, Lieutenant Jim Dangle from "Reno 911!" as played by Thomas Lennon, and many, many others. If there’s one thing Arnold Schwarzenegger is easily identifiable for, it’s his thick accent that’s remained a signature of his public image from the ’80s onward. But when the “Terminator” star began his career, he initially tried to curb the accent to no avail.
Schwarzenegger appeared on a recent episode of “The Graham Norton Show,” (via Insider), during which he spoke about the beginnings of his American acting career. The actor revealed that he had multiple coaches to help him break into Hollywood, one of which was an “accent removal” coach meant to help him successfully sound American. Schwarzenegger is Austrian, and his first language is German, his home country’s official national language.

Stallone's workaholic nature has sometimes strained his relationships, which he admits in Netflix documentary "Sly". "Sly" explores how Stallone used the Rocky movies to express his personal and professional struggles, with "Rocky Balboa" being his proudest achievement. Filming "The Expendables" took a serious toll on Stallone's health, causing him to suffer injuries that changed his approach to work and prioritize his family.

Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed on “The Graham Norton Show” that he once hired an accent removal coach to try and do away with his thick Austrian accent for good. Aside from his jacked muscles, the action star’s accent is his most definitive quality as a performer.

'80s action stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone were able to end their bitter rivalry -- by going into business together.
In an exclusive report by Page Six, Schwarzenegger attended the closed-door memorial service of his longtime Hollywood attorney Jake Bloom. While giving Bloom's eulogy, Schwarzenegger recalled how his lawyer helped not only to make the deal to bring the Terminator star into the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain business but also talked Stallone into it as well. Schwarzenegger remarked how angry he was about the Stallone news given their rivalry over box office receipts, muscle size, and million-dollar paychecks. The publication reports that what changed the relationship was that "Arnie and Stallone spent so much time flying around the world to promote the burger joint that their animosity finally wore away and they became close friends."

Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted on a new episode of “The Graham Norton Show” (via NME) that his rivalry with Sylvester Stallone “got out of control” during the 1980s and ’90s. The two actors emerged as action movie icons around the same time that Schwarzenegger released “The Terminator” and Stallone starred in “Rambo.”
“We were movie rivals, but we took the competitiveness to the extreme – we each had to have the best body, we had to kill more people in our films and we had to have the biggest guns,” Schwarzenegger said. “It got out of control and we tried to derail each other.”

Sylvester Stallone is in a class of his own.
The “Rocky” writer-star reflects on his legacy in Netflix documentary “Sly,” which charts his rise from “underdog to icon,” per the tagline.
“What is healthier, to live under the illusion and still have a glimmer of hope that you could have been great, or blow it and realize you’re a failure?” Stallone asks in the trailer.
Directed by Thom Zimny, “Sly” is billed as “an intimate and unexpected look at the early life of the action megastar as well as a reflection on his career that spans nearly 50 years.” The doc was announced in June and comes on the heels of the Netflix three-part docuseries “Arnold” about Stallone’s competitor and acting counterpart, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger reunited at a charity event, paying tribute to their hit film True Lies, released in 1994. True Lies, directed by James Cameron, became a genre classic and a box office success, starring Schwarzenegger as a spy leading a double life. CBS attempted to adapt True Lies into a TV series, but it was canceled after one season due to low ratings, receiving negative reviews compared to the original film.
Almost 30 years since the premiere of the acclaimed film that brought them together, True Lies, Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger met at a charity event and did not hesitate to take a photo together to pay tribute to the movie.
Released in 1994 and directed by James Cameron, True Lies has become a huge hit. An old school action comedy, True Lies had two Hollywood heavyweights, a strong supporting cast, and did not take long to become a genre classic.

Arnold Schwarzenegger recently discussed his presidential aspirations in an interview.
As reported by People, when he spoke to Howard Stern earlier this month, Schwarzenegger said that he would have pursued politics past his time as governor if he could. “I think that I would’ve made a great president. I think that I have the energy and the will to bring people together,” he stated. Stern concurred with Schwarzenegger, saying “I think you would’ve won." The Terminator actor agreed, telling the interviewer that fans have approached him saying they wished he was president.

Actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger has recalled an old incident when he had a secret affair with his housekeeper. Looking back on it, the ‘Terminator’ actor has called the whole issue ‘f**** up’.
During an interview with People magazine, the actor responded to a question about how they plan to live their lives as they enter a new chapter as grandparents to which the actor said: “We never left the (first) chapter. Because remember, it’s not like we had a feud. We didn’t have a fight”.
“It’s just my f*** up, right?” the former bodybuilder bluntly said of his affair with housekeeper Mildred Baena, which ended his marriage to Maria Shriver in 2011.
The actor added: “We always made it very clear that the kids should not suffer because of that. And she (Maria) has her things, her relationship, I have mine, but we always communicate about the kids,...

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada at the world premiere of his biographical documentary “Sly,” Sylvester Stallone called himself “the last of the dinosaurs” while praising his career longevity. The “Rocky” icon was referring to the fact that he’s one of the few ’80s action stars left continuing to headline movies, which is the case with the upcoming fourth “Expendables” movie. He’s also the lead of the Paramount+ series “Tulsa King,” which has been renewed for a second season.
“You can’t be prepared for this…the longevity of this career is mind-blowing,” Stallone said. “It’s just mind-blowing because I don’t know how much longer you can wait. Society is changing, the commerciality in cinema, it’s faster. So longevity would become a premium.”
Stallone continued, “I consider myself like the last of the dinosaurs, you know what I mean? And I’m very proud of that.

Comedian Hasan Minhaj has admitted that many of the stories about racial discrimination the late night host built his career around are not true, a new expose in the New Yorker revealed.
These fabrications include a story about a FBI informant infiltrating his Sacramento Muslim community, a white powder that was sent to his home to scare his family and that Minhaj met with the Saudi Embassy to interview crown prince Mohammed bin Salman right before the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The New Yorker confirmed these stories were partially fabricated or at the very least exaggerated.
“Every story in my style is built around a seed of truth,” Minhaj said. “My comedy Arnold Palmer is 70% emotional truth — this happened — and then 30% hyperbole, exaggeration, fiction.”
The comedian went on to say “the emotional truth is first. The factual truth is secondary.”

Schwarzenegger's recovery from the surgery proved his resilience and ability to overcome setbacks. Fans of Schwarzenegger eagerly anticipate the return of his TV series Fubar, which has been renewed for a second season.
As the Terminator, and indeed in many of his on-screen roles, Arnold Schwarzenegger is pretty much indestructible. Schwarzenegger has become known mostly for playing characters who just refuse to die, whether it is the T-800 in the Terminator franchise, or even his most recent appearance in Netflix series Fubar. Of course, the real world is very different, as the actor discovered when he underwent his...

Sly, Sylvester Stallone’s career-spanning documentary for Netflix, recalling the action icon’s famous performances in Rocky to Rambo to The Expendables, is set to close the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 16 with a world premiere at Roy Thomson Hall.
While a Netflix title, Sly is a documentary film not covered by the SAG-AFTRA TV and theatrical agreements, so the Hollywood actor, writer, director and producer could potentially be in Toronto to walk the red carpet, though his presence is not assured amid the actors strike.
Stallone’s retrospective in Toronto follows a career resurgence on TV where he stars in the Paramount+ dramedy Tulsa King, which has been renewed for a second season, and his Paramount+ family reality show, The Family Stallone, which just finished airing its eight episodes and has also been renewed for a second season.

Stallone's success in 1985 with his Rocky and Rambo sequels, making $600 million at the box office, was a result of his muscular physique and the popularity of action movies in the '80s. Both Rocky IV and Rambo: First Blood Part 2, set against the Soviet Union, achieved a remarkable $300 million worldwide, solidifying Stallone as a poster boy for action cinema. Stallone's $600 million year in 1985 was a high point in his career, as subsequent entries in both franchises would earn significantly less at the box office.
Sylvester Stallone had an incredible year in 1985 with his Rocky and Rambo sequels, which achieved an almost impossible $600 million box-office feat. Stallone had once been touted as the next Marlon Brando, following the success of Rocky. Unfortunately, Stallone had trouble achieving success outside of the Rocky movie franchise, while his first time playing Rambo in 1982's First Blood would send his career down a different path.

The Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger very well could be the most-impersonated actor in the world, given his unique voice and way of speaking. That has resulted in countless impressions of Schwarzenegger having been delivered over the years, from fans quoting the actor's films to various sketches and comedy routines seen on television. But who does the best impersonation of them all?
That's debatable, but Schwarzenegger has his own favorites. In a video shared to YouTube by Reddit to promote the action star's Netflix series Fubar, Schwarzenegger was shown a comment from a comedian who says they were "booed off the stage at the comedy club for doing bad Arnold Schwarzenegger impressions." In response to that, Schwarzenegger suggests the comedian check out the sketches of "Hans and Franz," the Saturday Night Live duo who he credits as doing the "best" impressions of him.

Arnold Schwarzenegger says “The Terminator” is no longer a fantasy given the current state of artificial intelligence. Speaking at a press event in Los Angeles (via People), the actor said James Cameron’s 1984 action classic has now become a reality. The film is set in a world where an artificially intelligent defense network known as Skynet has become self-aware and has conquered humanity.
“Today, everyone is frightened of it, of where this is gonna go,” Schwarzenegger said about AI. “And in this movie, in ‘Terminator,’ we talk about the machines becoming self-aware and they take over… Now over the course of decades, it has become a reality. So it’s not any more fantasy or kind of futuristic. It is here today. And so this is the extraordinary writing of Jim Cameron.”

With 1991’s James Cameron-written and -directed “Terminator 2: Judgement Day,” Arnold Schwarzenegger may have notched his highest-grossing feature to date and cemented himself as an action icon. But he still remembers feeling “suspicious” about something missing from the script.
He wanted to kill more people.
Not just kill more people — “massacre” them, he admitted at a “Terminator 2” screening hosted by the Academy Museum on Wednesday. “I was killing 68 people in the first one — the second one, I have to kill 150. We go up with the count and the massacre, and we cut their throats and kill them and shoot them and the cannon and this and that — run them over with the car. I said, ‘I’ve got to outdo Stallone!’ I’ve gotta be No. 1 in killing the amount of people on the screen.”
His thirst for blood was so intense, Schwarzenegger said, that Cameron had to talk him down.

The best Netflix shows to fall asleep is a roster that's comprised of a mixed bag of documentaries, classic sitcoms and television shows, reality series, and similar other content. They're not necessarily boring shows, and some are even highly compelling and insightful. Found among both the lowest and highest-rated Netflix series, what these shows have in common is that they're all conducive to play in the background while audiences try to sleep, which has become an increasingly common way for subscribers to use the streaming platform.
While many of the best TV shows on Netflix such as Narcos, The Witcher, or Beef typically offer high-intensity action and drama, this isn't always what subscribers need. Sometimes, viewers just want to relax, and Netflix has several shows that can be as soothing and relaxing as Asmr or simple white noise videos. From docuseries like The Great Robbery Of Brazil's Central Bank and Night on Earth,...

Commando remains one of the quintessential Arnold Schwarzenegger action movies. There are the incredible set pieces and the one-liners and the scene where he feeds a deer for some reason. But major changes had to be made when it came to the ending due to the rivalry between Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.
Screenwriter Steven E. de Souza – who was one of the go-to action writers for a stretch, also penning The Running Man, Die Hard and Judge Dredd – sat down with Radio Times to let off some steam about how his script was changed following the release of Rambo: First Blood Part II, which had come out while Arnold was filming Commando. “I concurred with Arnold [that the film would be a success]. At the time it was Rambo versus Commando and those two had a rivalry for a long time, but Arnold predicted that people would still be talking about this film because it did not...

It was little surprise that the Chris Hemsworth action-sequel “Extraction 2” would lead Netflix’s Top 10 chart for the week of June 12, but the original “Extraction” ended up taking second place as viewers that missed it caught up before watching its sequel. Read on for this week’s analysis, noting that Netflix has begun focusing more on total views for many of their films and series, rather than just hours viewed.
“Extraction 2” scored 42.8 million views worldwide since debuting on the streamer on Friday, June 16, or 88.4 million hours viewed, as the #1 most-viewed film in 88 of the 93 countries where it entered the Top 10. Ireland was the only primarily English-speaking country that had a different movie watched the most, and that was “Paw Patrol: The Movie.”
The original “Extraction” from 2020 scored 9.6 million views for 18.8 million viewing hours, while “Paw Patrol” was watched 6.6 million times or 9.4 million hours. Even less of a surprise...

In its first full week of availability, the fourth and final season of “Never Have I Ever” has jumped to the No. 1 position on Netflix’s weekly viewership charts for June 12-18.
As of Tuesday, Netflix has begun ranking viewership by estimated number of viewers rather than hours viewed. The streamer calculates this by dividing the number of hours a project was viewed by its runtime. This puts “Never Have I Ever” Season 4 at 11.5 million views for the week.
Though the series’ position on the chart improved, views were actually down compared to last week, when it took second place with 15.5 million views in its first four days of availability.
The return of “Never Have I Ever” did also boost its previous seasons to the chart, with Season 1 grabbing the No. 8 position with 2.6 million views and Season 2 rounding out the bottom of the chart 2.3 million.
