This episode really brought a return to the greatness of the sunny glory days, I've been feeling like sunny has been running on fumes and producing good episodes but not great like they're known for, but this episode was so much different then what modern sunny has been like.
We got some great callbacks to the Dennis (sinned) system and to mac finds his pride, which both hit very hard.
Season 16 has been pretty good so far and I really hope the rest of this season is as good as this episode was. I have high hopes for the next episode as it's the one that feature Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, I really hope they don't blow the opportunity that their given to work with two amazing actors.

As a chess player, this whole thing was sloppy an unrealistic. I love every episode... Ever, except this one. The truth is Chess cheating could never ever work like that at all, you can't pick up the pieces and move them around, then change your mind, etc... Black does not move first... etc... A "big game" against the "Russians" wouldn't happen in a little place like that. The whole thing was basically bad writing... well very lazy and predictable and unrealistic
I really love every other episode though, and it makes me wonder what the heck happened with this individual episode. So much of it is just bad.

This one had so many callbacks. Dennis showed his creepiness so well. The two plotlines seemed disconnected, but connected completely by rhe end. This really felt like old-times IASIP as I hadn't felt foe a long time. The actors were also more energetic like they used to be up to season 12. Also, the music is back. I don't know who was responsible for the music in the first 3 episodes but its timing was so off. The episodes felt silent without the typical music instead of the laugh track. It really made me feel super uncomfortable as this show used to cause me to be in the past. Super cringe worthy.
This is a pretty great episode as far as performances go. It wouldn't have been as funny if Frank and Dennis weren't played so convincingly. This just proves to me how, by this point, these actors understand these characters so well that they still seem like actual people despite the crazier and crazier things they decide to do. This episode is all buildup to a joke that got belly laughs out of me for a solid 5 minutes. This season definitely shook it up a little. Not that the show was getting stale, but it's impressive to see them kinda regain some steam. The characters have always been funny, but the recent seasons have usually been missing the zany story ideas that always made Sunny so memorable. This season it's back in full force and this episode is a great example.
A perfect Sunny episode. First, let's review the scenes that made me laugh;
The funniest scene I think was the scene where Frank was playing against a kid with charlie standing next to himi openly talking to his talkie and buzzer in his pocket buzzing loud as hell and they do absolutely nothing to cover things up. It reminded me of another scene I really liked where Charlie was in Mac and Dennis's house and he was talking with Frank on his talkie and he would say stuff like "roger that" and Frank's voice was so loud you were kinda able to hear him through Charlie's earphones. That was hilarious to me and that chess scene felt like an improved version of that, not trying to cover up a plan that should've been secret.
I also liked that they can joke about gay people again, mac's plot was good in this episode it didn't feel weird but I do think, just like in the first episode of the season, they make mac look extra stupid for some reason, he wasn't always like that idk why they changed him so much he almost feels like a different character at this point.
Something I didn't like much was the SINNED scene, it was pretty funny but I think it was kinda unrelated to the whole episode and they gave it a little too much time. Instead of that scene we could've watch how they drugged Frank and did the operation.
So other than couple of small details, episode was fire. A must-watch!

- TriviaThe premise of this episode is based on an incident in the world of chess during the 2022 Sinquefield Cup. After Hans Niemann defeated world champion Magnus Carlsen in a shock upset, Carlsen withdrew from the tournament the following day -the first time he has ever dropped out of a competition -amid widespread speculation Niemann had cheated. One theory claimed Niemann had received instructions via anal beads.
- GoofsThe last move of Frank in the chess game is moving the black king to a square next to the white king, an illegal move in chess.
