This is a knock off of the masked singer, and a poor one at that. All the scripted fake omg moments, holding their breath, super excited to find out who is someone's celebrity relative?
They are truly out of ideas for this one to make the cut for new television shows. Rehash of a rehash type show over hyped and promoted all out to garner some sort of attention.

We Are Family offers a unique twist on the celebrity talent show format. In this fun and engaging series, non-famous relatives of celebrities take the stage to sing with their famous family members, while an audience of 100 contestants tries to guess which celebrity they're related to before the big reveal.
The guessing game adds suspense and intrigue, as viewers try to spot clues in the performances, voices, and mannerisms of each non-famous contestant. The family duets are not only entertaining but also heartwarming, giving a glimpse into the dynamics between celebrity relatives. "We Are Family" is perfect for fans of lighthearted reality shows who enjoy a touch of mystery and the joy of musical performance.

Like "The Masked Singer", this show features hidden celebrities. But on "The Masked Singer", the singers compete against each other; there are no contestants. "We Are Family" has an audience of 100 contestants and they compete for money. Also like "The Masked Singer", the hidden celebrities are not all Grammy-winning singers, and clues to their identities are provided.
Anthony Anderson hosts this show with the assistance of his mother, of course, where $150,000 is awarded each episode. In two rounds, relatives of celebrities sing alone and then in duet with their famous relatives. During this process, clues are given as to who is hidden behind a "super sphere", which sometimes reveals a silhouette of the celeb. In each round, contestants get two guesses.
At the end of round one, the contestants who guess correctly split $20,000. Those who guess correctly after round two split $30,000. The contestant who correctly guesses the fastest (in both rounds) becomes the "star player", who then plays alone trying to guess the identity of a final celebrity as he/she sings with a relative and five clues are given. The prize for guessing correctly after the first clue is $100,000. Lesser amounts are awarded after subsequent clues. An incorrect guess yields zero dollars. The audience remains the same over multiple episodes, so the contestants try to rack up money over the course of the season.
Two suggestions for viewers: 1) If you read the cast listing, there are spoilers and 2) some of the comments by the relatives could be red herrings.
This is an entertaining show. The vocal performances vary in quality, but they are mostly enjoyable. There are also some touching moments between family members. Along the way, Anderson solicits guesses from audience members, and some of them are plain stupid.

I have always enjoyed Anthony Anderson and Mama Doris together but this show is very hard to stay engaged in. It's SO slow and the commercial breaks make it worse when you are already struggling with momentum. The editing is horrible. No one can possibly be that surprised or shocked by anything happening in this show. Why are the contestants the same? I bet Jamie Foxx thought this would be a hit but I'm sorry, for me, it's a major miss. I'm more bored watching it than anything else. I can't even say what could help because we've seen this show in other shows before. We need not re-invent the wheel here.
I don't usually leave reviews but I had to put one up to counterbalance the negative reviews this show is getting.
We only have two episodes of this show as of my writing, but I absolutely adore it already.
If you enjoy shows like The Masked Singer, or To Tell The Truth, you'll love this. It has the same host and his momma from To Tell The Truth.
It's pretty simple to understand the rules, and it's fun to guess who the secret celebrity is behind the screen. They are very recognizable celebrities as well. I won't name names, so I don't give away spoilers, but if you are interested in American pop culture, chances are you will know the celebrities without the blurb they give you to explain who they are.
Fun, and family friendly.
