"Love Struck" takes audiences on a delightful trip down memory lane, reminiscent of those cherished college days filled with innocent love and laughter. Ashok Selvan shines brilliantly, delivering a heartfelt performance that tugs at the heartstrings. The chemistry among the characters is palpable, thanks to the well-written script and stellar casting. Special mention goes to the supporting cast (Friends) whose sparkling humor keeps the audience engaged from start to finish. Kudos to the director for his adept handling of both writing and screenplay, making "Love Struck" a must-watch for romcom enthusiasts.
(+2) Ashok Selvan is an excellent actor and has also become a skilled dancer. He is truly captivating on screen, and his dialogue delivery and expressions add depth to his character, 'Saba'.
(-1) Unfortunately, Karthika's acting is subpar. Although her character has limited scope, she fails to make an impression.
(+2) The dance choreography in this movie is both unique and creative. It'll leave you amazed and impressed. Kudos to the masters Raju Sundaram, Leela, and Brinda.
(-1) The songs in the movie were not up to the mark. The lyrics were outdated and failed to blend well with the overall theme of the film. They were forgettable.
(+3) The movie's concept is brilliant - the lead character is arrested and begins narrating his love stories to the police. The credit goes to C. S. Karthikeyan.
(+2) The screenplay is refreshingly different from the usual romantic movies that idealize fairy tales. It's commendable that it remains grounded in reality, with the lead character falling in love multiple times and not sticking up to one girl.
(-2) However, the ending is clichéd, and the director could have avoided it altogether. It's unrealistic and doesn't fit with the rest of the movie, which tries to be as realistic as possible. The climax seems like a fantasy and was included just to wrap up the story.
(-1) The movie feels a bit too long after a while. It's exhausting to see the lead character's heart being broken multiple times, and the viewer starts wishing for the movie to end.
(+4) The movie's humor is its strong point. It's been a while since I watched a movie that made me laugh so much. The comedy isn't overdone, with the tone of the dialogues and the background music being perfectly balanced. The jokes are on point and relatable.
(-1) Some dialogues in the movie are derogatory towards women, with the word 'figure' being used to objectify them. For example, the dialogue 'Our boys do not leave out a single 'figure,' they 'correct' them all' is disgusting and should have been avoided. Credit goes to C. S. Karthikeyan.
Overall, Sabanayakan is an enjoyable, lighthearted comedy that's perfect for a weekend watch. Although there are some negative aspects to the movie, the positive ones outweigh them. You can watch it with your friends, family, and loved ones without any worries. It won't disappoint you.

Why more people aren't talking about this film, I don't know. Underrated, IMO. Don't watch the trailer if you haven't. I went into this film with no prior idea of what this was about, and about half way through, I thought "there's nothing new in this film, but it's really enjoyable". Boy was I wrong...about the first part, which we'll get to.
I'm not a fan of the RomCom genre but I thought Thiruchitrambalam was a fun movie. Most romance movies are sappy or too commercial, hardly relatable. This, however, you have (or somebody you know has) lived through about 90% of plot of this film. It will take you on a nostalgia trip (not the easy-way-out kind) like most movies haven't in a long time.
The cinematography deserves a special mention, not for showing scenic locations well, but for showing certain characters a certain way that you can hear your childhood friend go "Kavithai da. Kavithai!" I didn't care for the songs in Thiru'balam, and I didn't care for the ones in this film either. Regardless of how old the plot is it was FUN! Relatable, humorous. And then, the part that I DID NOT except.
One of Ashok Selvan's best works. What a 2023/24 he's had! Everybody else was great at what they were given.
What I saw in this film, I have NOT seen in any other film before. Mindblowing? No. But maaaybe, yes? That last part changed how I viewed the entire movie. Credit to the writing team. How wrong was I about the "There's nothing new in this film" part!? XD But hey, glad to be wrong this time.
Don't miss out on this one. Hardly anybody is talking about it, I don't know why. 90's bois, you'll LOVE it.

It is evident that the protagonist is an underrated actor. Thegidi movie put him with greatest expectation and more than the multiversatile actor his catch towards romance and comedy would be a wild card weapon.
I remember one of his full time comedy movie savalae samali during early days of his career, which did not make an impact but after all these years with few ups and downs he is courage enough to do one more of kind of the same genre BUT to my suprise the theme is fully engaging and refreshing .
I didn't have much hope when I start this movie but other than screenplay his matured mannerism tooks me into it. One can say loops and logics within the flim but at current era when all genre and trend are explored in Tamil cinema, the director and entire team put their efforts to take this movie on a good enjoyable full time one story with adaptable screenplay movie...
For each ocassion the protagonist played a adaptable role and it looked like another chartecter played the role. The involvement of multiple female artists and mix of role and flexible screenplay along with the continued monologues and dialogues paved way for much entertaining session
Ps Ashok Selvan - hats off!
You did showed courage to pick an expired and predictable theme and Excel it to be a perfect entertainer
Watched a romance comedy full time movie after a long time - will watch again someday :)

1. No need to FF any song sequence, they are all decent enough to watch with family
2. No super hero type hero character, but just normal average like many of us
3. No overload of alcohol or tobacco scenes
4. No item song sequences
5. Decent BGM, Screen play, dialogues
6. Most importantly No overload of punches, social messages
7. No super hero stunts, except one, bearable
8. Ashok Selvan's performance is very good
9. No flaws in story telling, direction
10. Actors that performed friends have done well
11. Katthika's performance decent
A good decent romcom that will make you feel being part of a normal decent world.
